We really enjoyed our stay at Amanda Hotel! The service was fantastic and everyone was really friendly and so helpful. The hotel is so beautiful as well and we took lots of pictures. We would recommend to rent a car or bike to better reach the city and beach. The location overall is good for doing trips around the coast. Breakfast was great as well. We hope to come back soon!
It's Mine Hostel

Taitung Station
I recently had the opportunity to stay at ”It's Mine Hostel” in Taidong, and overall, I found it to be an okay accommodation option. Here are my thoughts on various aspects of the hostel: Atmosphere and Policies Upon arrival, one of the notable aspects of the hostel was the requirement to remove shoes before entering. Although this might inconvenience some guests, it does contribute to maintaining cleanliness throughout the premises. The hostel has a modest, laid-back atmosphere, which can be suitable for travelers seeking a relaxed environment. Room Unfortunately, I found the room to be a bit claustrophobic. The limited space made it challenging to move around comfortably. However, considering the price, it was within the acceptable range. The room was clean and tidy, which was a positive point. Service One aspect that could be improved is the level of service provided. The staff offered minimal assistance during my stay, which led to a lack of personal touch. Despite this, it's worth noting that the basic amenities and necessities were provided. Pricing Considering the reasonable price offered by ”It's Mine Hostel,” it is essential to manage expectations accordingly. While some aspects may not be perfect, the affordability of the accommodation must be taken into account when evaluating the overall value. In conclusion, ”It's Mine Hostel” in Taidong is an okay option for travelers on a budget. It is worth noting that the hostel has a relaxed atmosphere. it provides basic amenities and cleanliness. If you're willing to overlook some limitations, ”It's Mine Hostel” can be a decent choice for your stay in Taidong. I hope this review helps!

Absolutely incredible mountain view room (無憂時光) - like being in heaven! It's even better in person and difficult to capture just how magical it is since the mountain mist comes and goes like Chinese watercolor art... probably more dramatic than other sights you go out of your way to visit in the vicinity. The room itself is spacious and well appointed... washlet toilet too! There are 3 buildings, one for breakfast with panoramic views, one for regular rooms (十方) and the other one a level lower for unobstructed mountain view rooms (無憂) which cost a bit more but are well worth the money - can see the sunrise from the room's balcony! Alternatively, there's a viewing platform outside for everyone. Took the iconic 2.5-hr Alishan Train from Chiayi 嘉義 to Fenqihu 奮起湖 (book tickets online 2 weeks in advance at 6 am, pickup at 711) then it's 30 min by taxi (300 NTD) from Fenqihu or there's an infrequent bus 7322D which came really late 'cause of cherry blossom traffic. Can easily spend a couple of hours there, with trails and shops - check out 山嵐小築 for mountain-view patio tea/dessert. Staff very responsive via email, recommending a couple of drivers, one of whom we booked for 8 hours for 3000 NTD (+300/hr if over 8 hrs), including going to a local hotpot restaurant nearby they suggested with light and fresh ingredients 龍舞雲海阿里山現採高山蔬菜火鍋 (make sure you call to book in advance). Also managed to see Alishan National Forest Recreation Area 阿里山國家森林遊樂區 (200 NTD to enter)'s 姊妹潭 ponds and 神木 forest (well-known but not as spectacular as you might imagine) in addition to 石棹's 櫻之道 with bright pink sakura trees and beautiful tiered tea fields - all quite busy in the midst of cherry blossom season mid March. It's lovely but probably better to come a different time of the year to avoid the crowd if you've already experienced more densely planted clusters of cherry blossom trees in Japan and are less likely to find it that impressive. Transport a bit tricky without a car so do make arrangements ahead of time (an hour up to Alishan Station) although infrequent 台灣好行 buses stop nearby downhill at Xiding 隙頂, also going to High Speed Rail Chaiyi Station (taxi 1500 NTD). Trails within walking distance for sunset with tiered tea fields and sakura (隙頂二延平步道 100-min loop - helpful hand drawn map at reception... lots of steps but not too bad and totally worthwhile). Sunrise from 茶霧之道's gazebo 涼亭 20-min walk away was insane (part of the loop)! Restaurant onsite only serves breakfast from 7-9 am so make sure you make lunch/dinner arrangements - the first night we got railway bentos from Fenqihu. The nearest convenient store is Hi-Life 萊爾富 that's 750 m away, adjacent to the above mentioned hotpot restaurant.
Alishan Sunrise B&B

The B&B is only a 5-minute uphill walk from the bus station, which is great for a solo traveler like me on the go using public transportation. The short climb is worth it when you consider the spectacular views of sunrise and sunset you get at the venue. Checking in is simple and smooth. The host was also kind enough to greet me at the bus. The room I booked is relatively small but the double-size futon bed is firm and has given me 3 nights if comfortable rest. There is no table but the wall-side low counter and stool allows me to have my takeout meal. The bathroom is functional and clean. The only downside is the noise I feel are the noise made by other international travellers (the German and English speakers during my stay 12/27-12/29) who have shown no consideration for other guests, but earplugs allow me to drown it out when I sleep. The buffet-style breakfast is all delicious and plentiful. The owner himself makes fresh coffee from his Nespresso for you. For dinner, I have bought very affordable local takeout noodle stew at a stall near the bus stop, and there is also a convenience store where I could buy food for my next-day mountain hike. The best and key part of the stay has been the photo-taking opportunities at sunrise and sunset, not forgetting the cats in their “cat cafe” outside the restaurant. Overall, for the low price, it is of excellent value.
ARCH INN

Hualien Station
We got upgraded to a bigger quad room with windows for free, which was very nice. Room: The room space may be small if you have many luggages, but there's no complaining at this price range because it's a steal! You can save some space if you bring your luggage to your bedside. An electricity outlet can be found on every bed, which is unquestionably very convenient. Cups, teabags, hairdryer, and slippers are provided. Bathroom: The bathroom is clean, and it is a private bathroom inside the room (not shared bathroom outside the room!). Towels, toothbrush and toothpaste are provided as well. Public area: There is a public area (like a kitchen) and an outdoor sitting area on the ground floor where you can make your own coffee or milk tea (which are provided there). Water dispenser can also be found there. There's a friendly (wild) cat too! Service: The staff was friendly and helpful. Luggage storage: If you're looking to store your luggage before check-in or after check-out, your luggage will just be stored on the corridor beside the counter with no safety other than ”name labels”. Safety: Password will be required for entry into the inn after certain time at night. Location: The inn is located close to the bus station, but some walking may be needed (which won't take long unless you carry big luggages). Convenience stores and some restaurants can be found within walking distance from the inn.

Cingjing Farm
Most stays within Cingjing has no elevator/ lift, so be prepared to carry your luggages up & down some stairs within the compound. Room was as per advertised. Spacious enough for a family of 4. Toothbrush, comb, shavers and towels are available too. Staff was good and clear of information. Just be mindful that after 8pm onwards, there would be no staff around - so you would require to remember the password of the main entrance. NOTE: There's no English T&Cs, so be prepared to have your Google translator on your phone if you can't read Chinese. Constant hot water for shower would be from 5PM to 12PM daily. If you would to shower earlier in the morning, you would require let the water run for awhile before the hot water is available otherwise you may have to shower with icy cold water. Generally, you would require a transport within Cingjing else it's not accessible for you to grab food or your necessities from the 7-11. Breakfast is available at NT$200/pax from 7:30AM - 9AM. Brunch is available at ala carte prices ranging from NT$150 onwards from 9AM - 2PM. Restaurants are available within Cingjing if you have your own transportation. Otherwise, you may wish to call the cafe located at the Swiss Garden, they do offer food delivery but be sure to check on their operating hours. 😀

Sun Moon Lake Ita Thao Wharf Market Place
Before booking the room, I asked if I had cooperated with the government tourism subsidy plan. I confirmed that I had, and I only sent a deposit of 2,000 yuan to complete the reservation. I also applied for the electronic serial number in 11/20. The Waterfront Leisure Hotel also completed the serial number login on the government official website. But in 11/23, I called and said that I would cancel the travel subsidy with the government. We have to admit ourselves to staying in the room at the original price, or unsubscribe to us. 11/24 Call the Tourism Bureau in the morning to ask about this part. The Tourism Bureau answers that the business who has withdrawn, and can still assist us in completing the travel subsidy application after logging in, which does not affect the rights and interests of both parties. However, the proprietress of the water bank said on the phone that she is in her 60s and will not use the government system (who completed the electronic serial number login), saying that many industry players have withdrawn, and I am not watching the news broadcast so big? ! ! And said that to live is to use the original price, as for their own withdrawal of tourism subsidies part of the sacrifice is that we have to absorb. The proprietress said that she would refund 2050 yuan, and returned the handling fee to me (it was very Ashali, and only sent 2,000 yuan after brushing the book). Therefore, I am looking forward to staying in the surrounding scenery. When I meet this businessman who is not talking, I will only ask consumers to absorb the loss. I can only say that I recognize it! ! The phone money transfer cost and time of this process can only be told to other passengers who want to book a room, please think twice. You can also go to the comments of google triptraver, I used to believe that the blogger wrote .... (life experience)

The host is very nice!!! She help guiding us to aqesome spots and also help take care of our luggage. Anyway still suggest to carry light as uber cannot access almost narrow roads around Jiufen. The view from the room is perfect!! You can see both mountains and sea from upstairs room. The room is cozy with 2 queen beds/1 booking room. 1 booking room = half of the house >> 1 room downstairs and 1 upstairs but limited 2 person/ 1 booking room) so if you come are a group of 4 people you can book 2 rooms (whole house). The bnb is not fits with people with knee issue as you will have to walk down the stairs to reach bnb but it has access to old street not far but up. I still think its a great place to stay. Breackfast comes with package (sandwich, omelette, and veggies). You can discuss with host for check in and can leave bag after check out. Overall love the place its nice and clean and you can chill in the room until check out time 12.00

The resort has a very good view and the service attitude is also very good. There is a license plate recognition system that will ask passengers for their license plate number in advance. The fence that drives up the mountain will recognize the license plate and open it automatically. The service staff are very young and polite. We will also try our best to solve the breakfast problem because there are only five groups of guests using a la carte service. They can eat hot freshly made breakfast and the view is great.

Sun Moon Lake Water Pier
The boss is very very enthusiastic, and the service is very thoughtful, and he even went to the door to help with luggage, very caring The room is very clean, many details are free from dust, and the air-conditioning filter is also clean (high quality) Next to it is the Shuishe Wharf Commercial Center, which can be reached in three minutes on foot, and there is also a passenger transfer station on the other side There is an elevator in the B&B, so it is friendly to parents, children and people with disabilities, which is great (recommended!!!!) The toilet is separated from wet and dry. The room type we live in also has an oak bath barrel, which is really fragrant~~~ The shower equipment is the kind of vertical separation, and hotels may not necessarily have this kind of coolness. The only small disadvantage is that the parking lot has a short walk (if you have a lot of things, you can park under the door) There is no own parking lot, which is the case for all nearby B&Bs, so it is acceptable (a parking fee of 200 yuan is required for unlimited access per day) Fortunately, there is also a barrier-free elevator on the way to the parking lot. The journey takes about four to seven minutes (the parking lot is very large) There are three 7-11s within a three-minute walk of the B&B. The function is really very convenient In addition, the boss will also provide discounted tickets for some water amusement facilities to avoid the risk of being slaughtered on the spot (there is a chance, the probability is not high but there is) The boss will also provide a lot of travel guides for Sixun, such as recommended food and lightning protection lists, etc. The on-site experience is brand new when checking in at the homestay The electroplated elevator frame has no fingerprints or scratches, which is really comfortable for obsessive-compulsive disorder patients There are many gift box displays on the first floor for reference The boss will also make tea for the guests, The quality of drinking is very good, not the kind of counter-imported tea from ************** Next time I go near Sun Moon Lake, I will definitely visit again~
