Unfortunately we planned for only one night's stay having no idea what a tranquil haven the Lodge and its owners are. Our Unit was so comfortably furnished and set in park-like grounds. Max and Anna are delightful, thoughtful hosts and Anna produces beautiful courses for the menu she offers. It is so important to book in advance so that she has time to gather the produce and prepare it to perfection at the time you prefer. Breakfast is prepared at the time you wish.

This was a excellent experience all round. Visited whilst cycling the Roxburgh Gorge trail. Nice little units with great locally sourced body wash/shampoo, attention to recycling opportunities, comfortable beds. The restaurant was super - the food amazing and so well presented. Good wine list and friendly staff. Breakfast was comprehensive. All in all a top experience.

Arrived soaking wet and covered in mud after cycling from Clyde to Roxburgh on a rainy day. We were given a warm welcome and a hose so that we could clean up. The rooms are clean and comfortable. We had dinner and breakfast at the Lodge. Both were outstanding. Highly recommend for anyone cycling the Roxburgh Gorge Trail.

We had THE most delicious meal last night…everything was cooked to perfection, lovely couple who own and run the Lodge…piping hot plates along with piping hot food.. Absolutely a must if you’re visiting Roxburgh… 10 stars from us… 🙏🏾

We were a group of 8 friends staying in 4 twin rooms. The rooms varied in size but were all very clean and were well provided and beds were comfy. This lodge can be assessed from the trail easily. The restaurant was a stand-out. The steaks and basque cheesecake were outstanding, wine was really good. We thought the prices were good value for money.

The room is great, spacious, awesome shower and products. But the most amazing thing was having dinner in the restaurant. The most amazing food! Totally unexpected. We loved it. I had the beef with mushroom and Stilton sauce, my wife the chicken. We both finished off the night with and incredibly priced Affogato . Highly recommended.

We stayed here for one night in between the Clutha Gold and Roxburgh Cycle Trails. The rooms were tired, the views nice, the bathroom basic but tidy. We didn't really see Anna but we got the impression from Max that we were a bit of an inconvenience to him. Not friendly or welcoming at all. however, he made up for that with great service in the restaurant and the food was excellent. I'm not sure why there was an expresso machine for the affogato at night, but not one for coffees in the morning - I can only assume they are understaffed and trying to do everything themselves. We probably wont stay here again.

We stayed on 1st January after our travel plans changed, and our booking was made at short notice. The Lodge was busy, perhaps full, but despite the rooms being quite small and close together, it was a quiet and peaceful stay in a very convenient location. The room was spotlessly clean and the bed was very comfortable. The website states “tea and coffee making facilities”, and this is exactly what is provided, together with two glass tumblers and two wine glasses … so there is nothing misleading. We did not require a meal, but there is a Restaurant on site for dinner and breakfast.

I took the package deal - room, meals,e- bike hire and transport - and although it was expensive I felt it was good value. The hosts went out of their way to organise my daily cycling to suit my abilities. The room was pretty basic and the walls were so thin I could almost join the conversation next door, but the dinners were fabulous. The location of the Lodge at the junction of the Clutha Gold and Roxburgh Gorge trails couldn't have been better. The Lodge with its helpful hosts was ideal for a first-time trail cyclist.
