Amazing historical Balinese architecture needs to be greatly valued and the staff many of whom have worked there for many years are really nice. The hotel should be nominated as part of a historical society to hold up & maintain its heritage. It's an amazing old hotel with lovely gardens. & Balinese statues & water features everywhere. It's being renovated at the moment, but the staff said they hope to have the main lobby restored very soon and are doing trial run sometime this month. For now, you have to check into the hotel through a side entrance at Ayodhya palace which was traditionally used for exclusive guests. Previous reviews have criticized the hotel, due to the renovation work going on & yes, they should notify people who book that it is under renovations and when it is due to be finished trough their website. We had 2 rooms & we were upgraded to grand deluxe rooms & thoroughly enjoyed the hotel and the staff were so nice. Extremely quite & peaceful no paint smells or workers being noisy. We got a great deal. Bicycles are free to use by patrons. The main pool is still under renovation but the front pool near the beach is still operating. Waterfall restaurant is open for breakfast lunch & dinner. Other small cafes by the pool are open. The spa sadly is closed but may reopen with a new contractor soon I am told. Please be understanding of what the Ayodya hotel & its staff have been through. It has been shut down during covid for 2 years and is only just re-opening. They need tourists to support them. & if you want value for money, you can get a great deal whilst staying at the hotel right now. Just ask to be placed in a room away from any renovation noise or paint smells. The staff will look after you very well as they did for us. Thank you, all the staff, for a wonderful stay at a wonderful heritage resort hotel.

Kayumanis Nusa Dua Private Villa & Spa

Blow up this hotel! !! The service is really good, there will be a special person to take you to your villa and introduce all the equipment, breakfast, and hotel facilities. Let's talk about eating first. You can choose to eat breakfast in your room, serve it 24 hours a day, or go to the restaurant. The specific time is forgotten and there are restrictions. There is an afternoon tea every day from 2-5 pm, fresh fruit, two snacks (biscuits and peanuts), and 8 bottles of drinks, Cola, Sprite and beer, unlimited mineral water, these are free. Then there is shuttle bus free shuttle within a certain range, you can make an appointment in advance, or call the car when you want to come back. Every time I go out to the front desk, will we ask what arrangements we have for the next day and where do we go? When will I pick you up, really don't take it too seriously. There is room service twice a day. Once in the morning, I clean the bathroom, clean the pool, change fruit drinks, etc. In the evening, I order mosquito coils, turn on the lights, put down the bed curtains, and put pajamas on the bed. I have to mention that one day I put my shirt on a lounger. At night it rained and the eaves made the shirt very dirty. I didn't care about it when I went out the next day. I came back and found that the waiter actually helped me hang up ? ? ? Oh my God!

Great hotel right on the beach, also about 15min walk from the mall with shops and restaurants. The room is cozy, comfortable beds, nice garden view. The bathtub is a bit too small, and the sockets for the double room are in the middlr of the wall bed, making it hard to charge the phones at night. The cleaning was fine but they could have cleaned the sand off the floor a bit better too. The pool is great, with many activities. The gardens and whole areas of the hotel are beautiful and well kept. The breakfast is fantastic, with lots of options for all tastes. The beach is nice and clean, with lots of sunbeds. The pool and beach srrvice could improve, it takes a long time for anyone to come get the order. Also the prices of the hotel are too expensive, so it is worth going to the mall for a meal. If you get the all inclusive package, for sure it is much more worth it. Great stay and great holiday at the hotel.

What a stunning resort. The gardens and grounds generally are so picturesque. The one bedroom villa with pool is incredible and has a huge private outdoor area to lounge and dine. All of the food from the restaurant and bar, including traditional and western dishes, are delicious. The staff are extremely attentive and have gone out of their way many times to assist or accommodate us. In particular, Tirta was extremely attentive and a real gentleman. He is very knowledgeable about the resort and activities or places to visit in Bali. He is also a brilliant photographer and kindly took the time to help us get some stunning shots. We stopped and had some great chats in passing around the resort several times. He really made our stay even more enjoyable and is genuinely such a lovely, happy person to interact with.

We deeply miss strolling on the nice beach and catching the breeze. Love the view from our spacious room and the care and help rendered to us throughout our stay with our 20-month old toddler. Grand Hyatt hires the best ppl, all hotel staff we met were friendly, considerate and helpful. Highly recommended for those with young children.

Grand Hotel, we stayed at this hotel for a 4-day conference. It was a great place to stay. The staff were fantastic, the facilities were excellent, and the rooms were great. It's certainly not the cheapest place to stay in the area, but sometimes you get what you pay for. The Wi-Fi was good and ran at speeds of about 40mb throughout the Hotel, with seamless transfer as you move around the hotel. I used the hotel laundry service for a dry-cleaned suit, which was returned to me the same day. I also needed a spare part for my camera, which I ordered while travelling the week before my stay; the hotel held it for me without any problem until my arrival. in the past, I've had problems with this kind of service as some hotels refuse to hold guest parcels. My only criticism is that drinks are very high priced, although free water is always available: I had a 300ml can of Coke which was over £3. I strongly recommend a stay at this hotel.

We had such a wonderful stay at the Merusaka! It's a beautiful property that's a rare Indonesian owned and run hotel in the resort central of Bali. We stayed in a pool access rooms which was particularly perfect for a family with a baby. It's only 1.2m deep which is perfect for getting the littlies used to water in a somewhat private space (only shared with 4 other rooms and no one else was ever in the pool when we were!). Bed was gigantic and so comfy, great shower, huge bath (did not use) and a sofa lounger perfect for chilling and breastfeeding on. Great breakfast and facilities at the Merusaka. Never short of a lounge chair at the beautiful stretch of beach just infront of the hotel. The morning sunrise yoga was perfect way to start the day and the staff went out of their way to be helpful. Super walkable to the gates of the ITDC so you can explore the world yonder. Felt like literally next door to Bali Collection. Left my son's swim hat at the hotel and staff coordinated with me and GoJek to send the hat to me in Legian. Could not fault the Merusaka. Wonderful wonderful stay - thank you. We will be back.

More about Bali

Introduction to Bali

Bali, an Indonesian island known for its forested volcanic mountains, iconic rice paddies, and stunning beaches, is the country's most famous tourist destination. Filled with ancient temples, rich arts and crafts, and a vibrant nightlife, Bali offers a kaleidoscopic blend of natural beauty and cultural depth.

Tips for Travelling to Bali

Bali's main international gateway is Ngurah Rai International Airport, located near the capital city, Denpasar. Travelers can explore Bali through taxis, local buses, bicycles, motorbikes, or even hired cars.

The official currency is the Indonesian Rupiah (IDR). Most hotels and restaurants accept credit cards, but having some cash on hand for local markets and smaller venues is recommended. Indonesian is the official language, but English is widely spoken in tourist areas.

As for visas, many nationalities can enter Indonesia visa-free for up to 30 days, but it's best to check before your journey.

Popular Attractions in Bali

Bali offers a wealth of cultural and natural attractions. Explore the ancient temples of Tanah Lot and Uluwatu, or immerse yourself in the artistic heritage of Ubud, Bali's cultural heart. Visit the Tegalalang Rice Terraces and the Sacred Monkey Forest Sanctuary for unique experiences.

Bali's beaches are equally enticing, with Kuta Beach, Seminyak Beach, and Nusa Dua Beach offering vibrant beach life. Surfing enthusiasts will love the waves at Uluwatu and Canggu.

Weather, Best Time to Visit, and What to Wear

Bali enjoys a tropical climate with temperatures fairly consistent year-round. The best times to visit are during the dry season, from April to October. Bring lightweight, breathable clothing, a hat, and sunscreen to protect from the sun. Also, remember to dress modestly when visiting temples.

Choosing Your Ideal Hotel in Bali

For luxury beachfront accommodation, consider the Legian Bali or the W Bali in Seminyak. In Ubud, the Hanging Gardens of Bali offers a unique luxury experience with its Instagram-famous infinity pool.

For budget travelers, the Puri Garden Hotel and Hostel in Ubud offers comfort and excellent service. The Dash Hotel Seminyak, with its eclectic and colorful design, is an Instagram-worthy stay.
