Best Western Plus Cary Inn - NC State

Bedbugs I was bitten the office manager was awful she should be fired I was referred to Best Western by The Lodge at Duke University hospital Randy the manager. After spending 7 weeks there I returned CaryvNC to look for housing,.. After the way I was treated I am confused what type of people live here. I filed a police event report. Plus a two report with Best Western customer service Dorothy Smith 330-518-6371

Check in was NOT a nice experience. The front desk woman who was there at 2:35 pm on Friday Jan. 12, 2024 was terribly snotty and rude to us! We have been to this hotel several times and it always seems to be the same woman who is rude to us. WHY? Let me tell you what we did...we came into the front desk and gave our name to check in and she raised her voice at us and told us that check in is not until 3pm (a mere 25 minutes away from the time we walked in there) and she was (with a raised voice) telling us there are absolutely NO rooms ready for check in. I turned to my husband who had the same look on his face as I did, both in shock that she was yelling at us for coming in there 25 minutes early and said to him, "well it's only 25 minutes, we can just hang out here". Well she got pissed off and yelled at me saying I didn't need to come to check in so early...and both my husband and I had to calm her down and tell her we were not even talking to her....we were speaking to each other. If I hadn't already paid for the room in advance I would NOT have stayed. The front desk is the first impression of any place...having a rude and lazy person in that position is not good. We left the office for the 25 minutes, the woman was now off...we found out she just doesn't like to check people in so she makes people wait to check in till the shift changes...so wrong, so rude, I will NEVER go to this hotel again! I hope someone that cares reads this

Staff failed to be honest about my room reservation and decided to not honor my reservation made in days of advance. Instead of giving me my king size room reservation after notification of error they still decided to not grant my request of what I’ve purchased.

Location is good, breakfast and fitness room were ok but beds were hard, pillows flat, carpet in public areas dirty and staff not friendly. Floors in the room were dirty, furniture was old but the bathroom was clean and was nice to have a small refrigerator. Also the TV was fine.

Room was nice enough, bathroom was terrible and looked like a cheap highway motel. There were no convenient plugs near the bed at all. The only plug near the bed was directly behind the head of the bed and was broke in the wall so if you tried to plug something in the entire face plate pushed in to the drywall.

Asset is is poor condition. Carpets are old and bathroom doors won’t even close/lock. I stayed in Best Western many times but this place is horrible. Morning breakfast also not great. I will never ever stay here.

The included breakfast was surprisingly very good with many hot and cold food options.

Almost stayed 2 extra nights (12/3 & 4), but a family medical emergency forced me to cancel the latter. Had I staid, I had asked for a room on a hallway level to parking lot; this property must have been built before Americans Disability Act, for except for one wing (with 4 handicapped specific rooms), the rest of the property not at all friendly to folks with mobility issues, too many inconvenient steps My room had peeling wall paper, in bathroom, refrigerator case door’s magnet would not keep it shut, same for one drawer in dresser, it slid open and unable to be slide shut

Staff was not friendly or helpful. Our first room had roaches, a noisy air conditioner, horrible bed, and a dirty shower when we arrived. Our second room did not have power in the kitchen area. The staff spent 2 hours before trying to help which they could not. They said they would fix it the next day and did not. The lady working the counter at checkout was very nice. Unfortunately that was the first good thing during our 4 day stay.
