El Ben Cabañas

I had a great stay at El Ben Cabañas! There was a little bit of a hiccup while checking in, however once I surpassed that everything went well! The manager, Harold was very attentive towards my group for our entire stay! He made sure we were good! Nick, was very attentive to our group as well! His service was excellent! Also, Tara was great and very professional as well! The only means of transport on Caye Calker is via Go-Carts or boat. With that being said the only thing I didn’t like abt that was that the resort at times had only one (1) available Cart to transport back and forth to the “Split”. There were seven (7) of us total in my group so that meant two (2) seperate trips each time we needed to go back and forth! The “split” is where we have to be dropped off to connect to another private mini boat to take us to the other side (South Side) of Caye Caulker. (It’s operated by the owner, Clayto annd he charges a small fee). Also, as far as the boat goes, a bigger boat or even multiple boats would service the resort much better. The resort only has one (1) speed boat (mostly operated by Allen who was also very attentive and professional) which transports back and forth from the resort to the main port of Caye Caulker! At the main port you wait there for the Express boat which can take you Belize City or San Pedro and back! Overall, I give my entire experience an 8!

The property itself is awesome - very nice rooms. Its a little inconvenient with their shuttle, especially get back to the resort, found it easier to just take the Split shuttle and walk.

El Ben is close to the split on the North side, it's relatively new and the accommodations are great. There's an on-site restaurant and bar and the staff are totally there for your every need. They offer to take you to and pick you up at the ferry pier on the South side, there's a published schedule. They will also take you by golf cart to the split or the local restaurants on the North side. Would absolutely stay here again and would highly recommend it to others. Check-in and out was seamless, Harold even had a welcome cocktail for us!

Being on the north portion of "the split" meant the location was very quiet and peaceful, but just a short ride away from the livelier south end. The south part of Caye Caulker has amazing food, and music, and excusions. The cabanas themselves are beautiful and airy and the views are incredible. This isn't a beach resort, but beaches are nearby.

El Ben is north of the Split, providing a sanctuary for us as we weren't interested in the hubub. They went out of their way to make sure we had a good stay, from picking us up from the airport to booking events, to being friendly and helpful in every way. One can't swim directly from the location due to the mangroves, but it's easy to get to/from town/the Split swimming via their water taxi or a short walk. The rooms were beautiful, food good, and service outstanding.

This is the most beautiful hotel weve stayed at two times now. The restaurant and the rooms and the staff are amazing. Love love love El Ben Cabanas ❤️

We stayed at El Ben Cabañas for 4 nights and it was excellent. The staff were extremely helpful in securing tours and local travel arrangements, the food/ service was great at the site restaurant, and the location is quiet and safe. It is a short ride or walk (5-10min) +ferry (2min) to the south side (main area of Caye Caulker). The rooms and landscaping are beautiful. If you are looking for a relaxing trip and are fine with a little walking to the beach, I highly recommend El Ben.

El Ben was fantastic and we would love to come back for a longer stay! Pappy, the boat captain helped us get around to and from town and the whole staff was amazing.
