I can safely say Intercontinental is one of the best hotels in Dalian after having stayed in many Dalian hotels. For starters we got a room upgrade and early check in and late check out. The hotel also gave us complimentary coffee and fruit soon after checking in. The room was clean, comfortable, modern and had a gorgeous city view. The amenities were satisfactory and their Breakfast buffet had a wide range of Western and Chinese cuisine to choose from. Special thanks to Jason from the fitness centre and Winnie and Kevin from the front desk for their excellent service they especially made sure our stay was enjoyable. The only downside is that I think the Chinese restaurant staff could use some training the service there was the least professional but in my opinion it didn't takeaway from the overall experience.

I've stayed at this location multiple times. It is a good location and I enjoy the house band in the pub (located in the basement). The Kempeski is definitely showing its ago, however. The marblework in the bathroom is cracked and some of the flooring is stained. The public bathroom (to the right of the lobby) is in desperate need of a makeover, i.e. recaulk the edges of the lavatory and do a deep steam cleaning of all tile. Breakfast was superb and the wait staff was doing a great job turning tables around for the next customers. I would probably stay again, but only if the prices are reduced.

Hotel Nikko is a throwback to the 1990's. It is well maintained and very comfortable hotel. In fact, I moved from another 5 star hotel to this one mid weekend. The decor is a little dated, BUT of the 3 hotels in downtown Dalian that I have used over this last year I think Nikko is my favorite. Their service is excellent. The food is good. (Breakfast is great and the Japanese restaurant is good) The atmosphere of the hotel is very nice and upscale. I like that there is a Lawson's near the lobby, in the adjoining office/apartment building. When I called to request they lower the temperature in my room, they said they could not adjust the thermostat; however, they did offer me a fan. Within 5 minutes housekeeping brought a very nice standing fan which worked great. My next trip downtown I think I'll start with Hotel Nikko.

I stayed in an executive room. The service provided by the executive lounge team was amazing (actually the best I have received in China). The breakfast and afternoon tea in the lounge was amazing. One day I went to the buffet for breakfast and was disappointed by the cleanliness of it, so I decided to just eat at the lounge. The laundry team was also great. They noticed one of my dresses had a small issue so they fixed it. Most of the staff spoke at least some English, it was the first time in China that even the housekeeper could speak English.

The hotel is separated from Dalian Railway Station by a wall. My room is on the 5th floor. The windows are soundproof and do not affect sleep. The room is spacious, the bathroom partition is processed, the sink is open, the shower and the toilet are separated very well, and the space is enough. Staying on weekends, there is a team to stay, the corridor is noisy. Breakfast can still be eaten well, if you are not picky, you can eat well. Chinese food is mainly Western style. The breakfast time may be distinguished from the team, and it was not crowded when I went. There is a problem. When I checked in, my Trip.com rights were not mentioned at all. Since the price is not high, I did not ask. I hope that the front desk can take the initiative to mention it in the future.

How can I put it this way? This old hotel is hard to describe. You said its location is good. It is indeed in the city center, close to the train station and railway tracks, but the small environment is really unsatisfactory. I stayed in a street view room, so I couldn't see the train or the sea, and I couldn't hear the noise of the train. You can call it old. It is true that the decoration style is very old. You can see its antique style through the elevator decoration, but the interior is indeed well maintained. It should have been very high-end back then, and the hotel management was good. The hotel's marketing is very good. The elevators were full in the mornings during my stay for a few days, and the office buildings were busy during the morning rush hour. It seemed that many companies were holding meetings here, conducting trainings, etc., so there were quite a lot of people staying. The airline also uses this place as a dormitory, and there are many stewardesses. The hotel service can only be described as so-so, not very enthusiastic, but still professional and meticulous.
