During my stay at Sterling Darjeeling from December 29th to January 1st, I must express my disappointment with the overhyped nature of the hotel. Despite claiming to be a 4-star establishment, the service fell short of expectations. The Wi-Fi was unreliable, and staff exhibited a carefree attitude, often neglecting guests' requests. On two occasions, I had to repeatedly ask for assistance before my concerns were addressed. The first incident involved reporting an issue with the Wi-Fi, which took three hours to prompt a response. The staff directed me to the reception to resolve the matter, refusing to attend to the problem in the room. Additionally, during the booking process, assurances of ample parking space proved inaccurate. Upon arrival, we were made to wait for half an hour at the reception while a shopkeeper inside the hotel removed his car to free up parking space. Moreover, despite being informed during check-in that a car for Tiger Hill could be booked a day in advance, we were later informed that no cars were available, with no effort made to rectify the situation. This lack of concern for guests' experiences and inability to address issues diminishes the hotel's appeal. I recommend considering external booking options to avoid the indifferent staff and disappointing ***agement. Despite being labeled a 4-star hotel, the overall experience at Sterling Darjeeling has been regrettable.
