Hotel Ferretti

Great pensioner, staff,location and room were wonderful . Only comments about the room, the bathroom could be better with a shelf to put toiletries, also a soap dispenser rather than packets, there were a great deal of stairs, 5 flights which should be mentioned but the staff helped with suitcases and were v helpful

An excellent location. A short walk from the train station in one direction, the Arno and the city in the other. A nice little trattoria at ground level and excellent value for location.

First, you had to walk up three flights of stairs to get to the lobby. There was no hot water in the shower. The bathroom is shared with 5 other rooms on the floor! Only one roll of toilet paper, it ran out real fast. The picture doesn't look anything like the room we stayed in. There was a refrigerator in the room, it was a big room with 1 king bed and two twins. The staff was friendly and carried our bags up and down the stairs. We were on the 2nd floor so we had 2 more flights of stairs to go up and down just to get to the lobby. Location was great, a 5 minute walk to Duomo.

The building needs some renovation and maintenance repairs but it was clean, great location and the service was excellent. There’s s a lot of stairs to walk up with luggage but doable.

The hotel is in a great location just a 5 min walk from the train station and within walking distance of all the main sights of Florence. I had the room with city view and private bathroom and it was ok, comfy bed and good size. The only thing I would say in the room is that the electrics seemed a bit old and worn which was a bit disconcerting. There is a ceiling fan to cool the room and when this was on the switch was making a buzzy noise and the plug sockets wouldn;t take my EU travel adapter so i had to charge my phone in the bathroom. Plug sockets were falling out too. The ceiling fan itself makes a lot of noise, so the only other option to cool the room is to open the window and let noise from outside get in. Not a problem for me but I would imagine this would be very uncomfortable during hotter summer months. Another issue is that the reception was only staffed between 9 - 5 and I didn;t see any staff at all outside those hours which would have been a problem should I have needed assistance. That said, the woman on reception between these hours was extremely friendly and helpful. Despite this, I found this a very good hotel to stay in while exploring Florence and would recommend to anyone looking for a simple place to stay while exploring Florence!

Hotel Ferretti might be one of the best deals for staying in central Florence. The location is unbeatable: easy walk from the train or tram stops, the River, and the Duomo. BUT, as clearly stated, this is a basic one star hotel, with no lift, and no AC. If you are mobility challenged, sensitive to humidity, or have mountains of luggage, this is not the place for you. The entry way is dark & grim, with reception up two flights of stairs. But once inside, the premses is clean and staff generally helpful & friendly. We paid a bit more for a 'Superior' room with own bath and we were delighted. Spacious, clean, comfy king bed, minifridge, and kettle in the room. With temps in mid to high 80's and very humid, the ceiling fan kept us comfortable. Double pane windows effectively cancelled the very loud street noise. Note: There is NO breakfast - their website falsely advertises breakfast service. I have made a complaint to ***********. Also, they have free wifi, but it never reached our room. We were able to log on by going to the sitting room area. In short, highly recommended, if it fits your traveling style.

The location is good, but the facilities are very outdated, and the bed mattresses are old enough to need replacing. The doorknob screw was loose and I felt like it would fall off soon, so I was anxious even when I locked the door. Accommodation too expensive for the price

The stay was really nice! The place is very central and it seemed the have been newly painted. The only thing we could have needed was some AC. It was relatively uncomfortable to sleep at night when the room was too warm.
