The hospitality was awesome, the food was great even though I was worried at first if i would be able to eat, also the staffs (Boipelo ❤️, Bothle, Minkie, Goabaone and others made the place fun. I really enjoyed my stay. Be sure I would visit again one day.

Avani Gaborone gives you a home feeling, it’s cozy and the staff is nice and service oriented. Breakfast is good with things needed. Ask for an omelette by the nice chefs! Rooms are newly renovated, I was there 8-10 years ago too. Pool area is nice. We tried the home made pizzas, very tasty.

A pleasant restful hotel, where the rooms are nice and the staff are very friendly. Possibly the service could have been a little quicker, but overall it was great. The Avani app is maybe not the best, but I would definitely return again.

Unfortunately, my flight from Cape Town was delayed and I did not land until almost midnight. However, I presumed that, as I had booked a transfer to the hotel, my driver would be waiting. However, despite being aware that my flight had been delayed, he had left to go home. Consequently, I was left at an almost abandoned airport, in what is not the safest of countries for a caucasian traveller. Fortunately, I managed to find a driver from another hotel, who kindly dropped me off at my hotel. I will not be staying at this hotel again.

Hospitality and Tourism is my business and this property is not living up to the Avani standards. The service is slow when you can get any. Being on a business trip Wifi is essential in the room. I stayed for a week and fron day 2 had an issue which I reported a few times during the week and was never resolved nor updates received. The issue was a faulty access point which can be fixed in a short time. Another issue is room maintenance. Rooms look great at first glance but then on closer inspection there are many cracks. The shower door is skewed and leaves a big gap, the inside of the shower door the knob is broken so you can't close it (somehow the gap comes in handy as you can now use it to pull the door closed, but the water puddle on the floor makes it extremely slippery, 2 down lighters did not work for a week. The string to put on the bed side light is not there, the AC remote does not work, you get a nice Nespresso machine but have to ask for the pods every day as they don't get replaced. The breakfast buffer is average at best for the hotel category. All in all a pretty disappointing stay.

It was an excellent experience all the way from the airport pick up. OT the hotel shuttle driver was friendly chatting with another guest and I. The check in experience was also warm and welcoming. Minkie and Tumiso saw to it that I got my preferred room option. Shortly after settling into my hotel room I receive a call from Biopelo, a guest service agent who asked about the Avani experience so far; check-in and the hotel room. This for me was a 6star experience as I have been to several hotels and this was the first one that called immediately to get feedback on the checkin and how the room was. My stay was for 2weeks and through out the stay staff were friendly and seeing to it that Iearnt a bit of Seswana :). Poloko the guest relations manager was very helpful with checking on me during the period and also working out an 18hole game of golf at the Gaborone Golf Club which I felt was a great gesture. I enjoyed the food at the breakfast restaurant with the variety of breads, pastries, eggs, vegetables, juices, yogurts, fruit and tea. My only feedback here was that I would love to have chicken sausages and not only beef or pork. Also I would have like scrambled eggs as option for those who do not eat fried eggs. However the meals were nice and tasty and I always looked forward to breakfast. I was sure to try out their Seswana dishes in the other restaurants at the pool side and at Mahogany. I had the Oxtail and pap, Seswa and morogo and other nice dishes. My Mahogany experience was an excellent as it is a fine dining restaurant within Avani with professional waiters. I had the Chobe Brim dish with coconut pap and morogo it was amazing and flavorful. For my trips around town I had a nice cab driver Henry from the hotel who took me around. It has been an amazing Avani experience and I look forward to visiting again.

I expected better service - seems no one inspects rooms (cleanliness, plumbing, electrical, cooling). Gaborone Sun had old but cleaner rooms. Refurbishment done looks nice but there was poor workmanship and there's generally poor maintenance; even of small things that don't need replacing anything, e.g., just tightening screws of fixtures

Whilst pleasant in many ways, I found that this hotel is tired and needs some attention. Staff were friendly, but overall I dont think it commands the price it charges. With all the other hotels in the CBD, I think management needs to rethink the overall proposition. Phone didnt work even after reporting it twice, and air conditioner in room wasnt effective enough, as I think it was installed in the 90s. The gym needs a revamp and soem airconditioning - was too hot to work out longer than 30mins. Im sorry but I dont think I will be returning. Lovely pool and outside area though!
