The location is good as it is right in front of the train station. There are many restaurants around. The facility was clean, but there was a lot of smell because it was under construction when I visited. It was disappointing that there was no information about construction before checking in.

It wasn't until we arrived at the hotel that we knew that the hotel was being renovated. It was a shock because the facility was so shabby from the inside shown in the picture. It is said to be sleeping in the middle of the construction site. It felt like I had been cheated

I booked this trip as a Birthday present for my wife. We specifically chose this hotel for the ambiance. When we arrived, we found out the hotel is going through a remodel. Everything is covered up and there is butcher paper on the hardwood floors to protect them from the remodel dust. Also being woken up to the sound of screw guns isn't the most relaxing. I have no doubt that once the remodel is complete that it will look great; I just wish it would have been disclosed, especially since it was more to stay there versus other historical hotels in the area.

The construction ongoing at Hotel Denver is a problem and should be explained much more when booking. We arrived to noise, bad smells, and a lot of disruption. The staff were kind and the level of construction nuisance varied during our stay, but we should have been told. AND Hotel Denver should be discounting all of their rooms during this period. We would have stayed elsewhere had we known.
Also, the room's floors were not clean. The room overall was clean and tidy, but the floors were not.
There's much to appreciate and love about Hotel Denver (location, style, room, big windows, nice staff, etc.) and we would return -- after the renovations are complete and once the cleaning has been more thoroughly done.

You should be worried when they give you ear plugs upon checking in. The hotel's under construction and it really shows: large plastic ceiling covers outside the elevator hanging so low they hit my husband's head, dated, worn-in dirt in sink , tub and on tile floors with overall poorly cleaned baths with the WORST lighting. We requested extra towels and got only two total, one of which you could practically see through. Dangerous sink area shelves that easily collapse and a Keurig unit precariously sitting crookedly and only 1/2 way onto its shelf. The Keurig almost fell off and the upper shelf holding hand towels did fall off. All this for close to $300! Don't stay here until they get their act together.
I will say, the remodeled sleeping area was quite nice except for the King bed shifting squeakily down every time we got in or out.
We would like to give an award and 6 stars to Hayden at the front desk who went above and beyond to help get paperwork we left in the room back to us via UPS.
He truly cared about taking care of us and it means a lot.

Our stay was very disappointing. They had no warning of there remodel status. It was just hallways and rooms. This is a beutiful place and we wanted to enjoy there lobby, but all was boarded off. They should have warned people on there website because i would have chosen a different place to stay.
