The hotel itself is fine. Front desk was pleasant and welcoming, lobby has nice sitting area by fireplace, room looks to be recently redone, and complimentary breakfast was good. The location of the hotel is right off the freeway exit/entrance so it is convenient; however, there is light road noise (not enough to disturb me or my wife, who is a very light sleeper). It is a 40 mile drive to the mountain for skiing or to Aspen downtown; however, given the price for our room, the value proposition is favorable to stay in Glenwood Springs. Our out of town guests actually loved the "feel" of Glenwood Springs downtown as opposed to Aspen (at a fraction of the price). There is also a convenient walking-bridge just East of La Quinta leading you to a very walkable downtown.
