Hotels near Hakone Tozan Railway in Hakone

This hotel actually exceeded our expectations! When I booked, I had doubts as I thought it would be a little run down but it is actually a nice property in an amazing location. The décor is a little dated but it is kind of the style of the hotel. I booked through Rakuten Travel website and upon arrival our reservation was all in order. I would recommend including the breakfast option as there is little in the way of cafes open before 10am in the Gora area. Our twin room was a little bigger than the ones in major cities. It was clean and the linen changed daily. The room includes tea making facilities, a small fridge and there is sufficient space to lay luggage (on the floor). The hotel provides (male/female separated) onsen areas with an indoor and outdoor pool in each. It was great to use this at the end of the day of sightseeing, particularly when temperatures where cold. The breakfast buffet caters more to the local market but did provide bacon, scrambled eggs, toast with jam, croissants, tinned fruit and yoghurt, coffee as well as salads, soups, fish etc. I found it was sufficient to cater for Western needs. The location is perfect and so easy to access the local transport including the various train/ropeway/ferry around Lake Ashi and a direct bus to Gotemba Premium Outlets. The location is also good to walk to restaurants in the town for dinner. There are a wide variety of restaurants with varying degrees of costs (some very upmarket).

The location pretty close with the outlet. King moderate room enough if you travelling with 1 child and lucky me the window view straight to Fujisan. Breakfast also various and coffee, yakult for free!

The facility itself was good, but it was very cold inside. It was also very inconvenient that toothbrushes and razor towels had to be paid. There doesn't seem to be a need to pay for towels.

We stayed here for two nights. The staff are very friendly and helpful. The location is near Gora Station, just few minutes walk. There's a common lounge and a small kitchen. There's a rooftop where we can gather there to relax and chill out. Also at the ground floor, there's a recreation area. Overall the stayed is very pleasant. Hope to go back again.

This hotel is a historic property set in an iconic setting. We stayed in the Forest Section which features large, comfortable rooms that were a little dark, the bathroom lighting could be improved. Here is my issue. We arrived around 1:15 and we’re told that we could check in at 3:00. We had lunch in their cafe ( 50$) and asked again about an hour later if we could have early access. The very polite desk clerk replied “ Yes, for $70 dollars “. Astounded , I countered that we were departing early 2 days later, and he reduced the amount to $35. Now here is where communication becomes an issue: I continued the “are you kidding me?” and he kept bowing. I thought the issue was settled. That night and the next we ate at their lovely restaurants, French and the Cascade. Food and service was superb. With wine we spent about $900. Check out was early, and my husband didn’t really examine the bill. When we were back in our free early access room in Tokyo I noticed the $35 charge. I contacted the hotel’s customer service and they confirmed the charge. So, what about customer hospitality? I have NEVER been charged an early access fee for an hour. They have been times when we patiently waited for a room to be readied, and never demanded a rebate. It is all part of the guest/host agreement, I think this is probably a corporate decision by the Fujiya Group. Rethink your mission, guys, make guests feel wanted!

Very interesting archetecture, great view of Mt. Fuji and a good price were why we choose this hotel. We arrived around 6 PM and were told we couldn't use the restaurant because we didn't have a reservation. We had to drive back to interstate about 15 minutes to find something, there is nothing at all in the hotel vicinity or even a little snack shop on site! Buses very limited. The front of the hotel was nicely painted and landscaped, but the back with patio was pretty shabby. But it did have seating outside for great fresh air. Parking was free but coming back after dinner the covered parking was all full and we had to park lower level in the rain. The room had a strange layout, a 3-mat room for a passageway (luggage drop?) and a small bedroom that one person could get out of bed on one side, but the other person had to crawl over the middle of the bed in the night to get out. In the closet were 2 hard hats?? In case Fujisan starts spewing ash? I think maybe this room was the staff's emergency room when forced to stay. The public bath was disappointingly small, so got crowded quickly. And the view? Of course it rained so no view of Mt. Fuji at all. Not in the hotel's control, but left us disenchanted... 4-star hotel. I don't think so.

It is a very suitable hotel for anyone to stay together. This time I chose two days and one night including breakfast and dinner. Hotel staff are very friendly The restaurant is a buffet style with many styles and is well worth a try There are public hot spring facilities and saunas. If you need a private hot spring, you can make a reservation in advance for extra money. The cost is not too expensive (remember to buy a bottle of milk after soaking in the hot spring) There is also a hot spring park nearby for fun, but I was too busy to visit it this time. There are many places to check in, and friends who like to check in and take photos are highly recommended to stay in this hotel.

I chose it because there was a description in the word of mouth that the bath and toilet are separate, and there are babies who are afraid of baths. Advance payment is required upon arrival. I checked all the notes on Rakuten, so I knew that credit cards were not accepted, but there was no mention of pre-payment being required. In the end, in order to withdraw the cash, one of them had to go back and forth on a pitch-dark, dangerous slope with no sidewalks for about 30 minutes, while the other had to wait in the lobby with an infant. It is not easy to keep an eye out for additions. In such a situation, I was given a quick explanation at once, and furthermore, I received additional explanations many times saying, ”Oh, I forgot this too!” I was asked to put the garbage together when I got home, so I put it in a bag and put it in the trash can. The garbage is amazing!” After that, she is treated with a tame mouth without using honorifics. . I'm going to put this in a bag properly and follow the instructions. If you ask them to take it outside, I think there is a way to say something like, ”Excuse me, but all the garbage is self-service, so could you please take the garbage outside?” If I had been told that, I would have gone outside. If you forget about the precautions and add explanations over and over again, you will be sarcastically if you can't do everything perfectly... Even though the inn isn't perfect, why don't you complain if the guests aren't perfect? What is it? ? In addition, there are large moths flying on the ceiling in the middle of the night, the futon is thin even if the heater is on, and there is no washing area although the bathroom is separate, the wind from the dryer is weak, etc., but it seems that children will enjoy it. I thought. However, the blunt remarks on the way home made my impression of the inn worse at once, including the fact that I was okay with it. It is very disappointing that I came all the way from afar to be healed after spending so much time and paying not cheap money. From the first time I was told, ”It's cheaper to book directly, so please book directly from now on!” However, the way you interact with them will make a big difference in the future whether you want to use them again or whether you will recommend them to others.

I booked a room type with 2 single beds through the reservation website (it wrote that the room area is 19 square meters), and the order also indicated that I would bring a 3-year-old and 5-year-old child, but the counter staff said that there was a letter saying that it would not work (but I have not received it from beginning to end), Adhere to give us a 2-night double room (6469) or a single double room type (10690), this hard bow can only choose a cheap price increase or let us be very unhappy, the point is that we have not received the notice, and then I looked at their double room is almost 12-16 square meters, I don't know where they insist on it. I can also change the room type or change the hotel by myself if I inform me earlier. It makes people feel bad from check-in! The room is almost small in Japanese business travel. It is necessary to rest. If you can choose, you should choose the configured one. If you bring children, there are many restaurants nearby!

Pleasantly surprised by the large room we got, with an enclosed balcony overlooking the lush green valley. Spacious bathroom. Clean room. Excellent onsite onsen - enjoyed the experience. Lovely dining areas and sushi restaurant. Free pickup from Odawara Shinkansen station (45 min ride to hotel). Hotel offers free dropoff and pickup to local train station so you can comfortably take the cable car to Lake Ashi. Highly recommend the cable car, boat across Lake Ashi and Hakone's open air museum.
