Amazing stay, very traditional experience. Rooms are clean. The included meals are amazing! The hotel has limited capacity, so the personal attention for each guest is very nice. There are also private onsen hot tubs which you can reserve for 50 minute each time. It’s really good!

Very friendly from start to finish. Except for the sound of the door opening, the soundproofing was very good. Contrary to the description, there is no private bathroom in the room. (They say it will be modified) Both the room and the hot spring were clean. Dinner included kaiseki and omakase sushi. The seafood quality is very good. It was a little short for an average adult male, but it would be perfect if there were 2 more pieces. Breakfast was reasonably good. It's not famous yet, so there aren't many people. You can use the hot spring for two hours when there are no people around. Enjoy your honey comfortably when no one is around.

This place is Amazing! It's a little hard to get to but it's so worth it. The onsen was so much much. They have private reservations that you can bath in private. The room was clean and cozy. Very Japanese traditional setting. The staff was so nice and helpful. The best part was the food. We are a group of foodies from NYC. And we were absolutely impressed with the food. Hands down one ofvthe best! This place is a gem in the mountain. We can't wait to go back.

Half hour bus ride from Hakone Yumoto, then 5 min walk from the bus stop. The building is nice, lobby and restaurant fairly slick. The staff are polite enough. The room was average, a little on the small side but clean. Despite the place being a bit expensive the staff told us to make our own bed, which ive never experienced before at an onsen hotel. There are no showers in the rooms. The onsens were very poor, 2 small private use tubs that you can only use once. Seems like they hadn't been completed properly as there was white plaster residue all over the walls. No view from the onsen, I'm not even sure it was onsen water. There were no other large single sex onsens, no outdoor onsens etc. The sushi was good though far too much rice which made it get boring quick. Breakfast was Japanese style bento, included vegetables, salmon roe, a block of fat that was supposed to be meat? with rice and miso soup. No coffee or juice, just water provided The staff lock the buildings doors at 10pm so you cannot leave to get food, drink or smoke after then. The hotel has no vending machines and does not sell snacks. Drinks are available at restaurant prices until 10pm, to consume in your room. No complementary bottle of water in your room either, but signs saying "you can drink tap water".. Checkout is 10am and we were asked to promptly leave then, when I asked if a shower was possible after breakfast, despite there being 0 other guests. Perhaps people that enjoyed here came to view other things in the area, as the ropeway is close, but as a relaxing onsen break it was terrible and overpriced. This is perhaps why no other people were staying.

We stumbled upon this unique inn on our visit to Hakone - drawn in by a sushi restaurant and onsen on site. It had been open for just a few weeks and from the moment we entered the front door it was clear our stay would be a memorable one. With only a handful of rooms and a sushi restaurant that seats eight people max, intimacy was assured. Chief Euno and his team were gracious hosts, the rooms were immaculate and in traditional Japanese style, and a private onsen was a great way to wind down after a day of traveling and sight seeing. Sushi Chef Taisyo Ishida served us one of the most memorable and satisfying sushi dinners I've ever had, and he also invited us to watch him prepare our breakfast for the next day because he knew we had to depart early in the morning. It was a truly sublime experience - one I will never forget and hope to share with my family in the future.

We stayed here for 2 nights and it was genuinely such an amazing experience, we’re so glad we found this place on our Japan trip. It’s very quiet with not a lot of guests so it’s really tranquil… the food was stupendous and really fresh- the restaurant is a small 8 counter seater and the chef prepares dishes in front of you. The onsen was wonderful and all of the staff were lovely and very welcoming. I would not hesitate to recommend staying here for a relaxing and unique experience!

Wow, what a great place! We are very Happy that we found this ryokan, where we stayed for 2 nights. The staff is super friendly and helpful. We were amazed by the Excellent Dinner and breakfast menues, which are prepared live by the Chef. Also nice onsen in the facility which you can book all for yourself. So far the Highlight of our Japan vacation. Would definitely recommend this place! BR Simon

I had an incredible stay at Gora Soryu hotel in Hakone! The facilities were absolutely beautiful, and the accommodations were incredibly comfortable. The highlight of our visit was the relaxing private onsen, which provided a serene and rejuvenating experience. The authentic cuisine at the hotel was a gastronomic delight. Every meal was a journey through the flavors of Japan, and it left us craving for more. The attention to detail and the use of fresh ingredients truly impressed us. Moreover, the manager, Ryo Ueno, went above and beyond to make our stay memorable. He was exceptionally helpful and hospitable, assisting us with everything we needed. He even helped us with arrangements to get to our next destination, which was greatly appreciated. I can’t recommend Gora Soryu hotel enough. If you’re looking for a luxurious and authentic experience in Hakone, this is the place to be. We left with wonderful memories and a desire to return in the future.
