Hotels near Gora/Sengokuhara, Hakone

Hotel Indigo was recommended to us by a co-worker. She raved about how much she enjoy her stay, so we decided to visit for our Anniversary. We loved everything about this hotel from check in to check out, everything was amazing. The hotel staff always made us feel welcome, by greeting us (by name most of the time) whenever we were out and about in the hotel. Hannah checked us in. She was nice and provided us with information about the area. We had the breakfast included in our stay. The restaurant manager Koji-san was awesome. While not a picky eater, I do like my eggs cooked a certain way...lol.. On the first day of breakfast, my eggs were not cooked to my liking. When my plate was taken, Koji-san noticed that I did not eat my eggs. He immediately came to our table and inquired about the eggs. I told him that they were too soft for me. He apologized and asked if I had enough to eat and said that he would like to try again the next morning. I thought this was such a kind gesture. For the next 4 days, my eggs were cooked exactly how I like them. We had dinner at the hotel restaurant. It is a bit pricey, but the chef is very good. The salmon and asparagus were my favorites. Our anniversary was on the 22nd and we received a call from the front desk asking if they could bring us a gift for our anniversary. They brought us an assortment of sweet treats, which we enjoyed with a cup of tea. Very sweet. Our room was spacious, clean with the perfect temperature. The television was the largest that I have seen a Japanese hotel. Our room was on the riverside with a private outdoor onsen. While relaxing in the onsen, you can hear the calming sounds of the river. There is also a foot soak in the garden area. it was a bit to cold outside for me, so I didn't get to enjoy it on this stay. The hotel was cleaned thoroughly and safety precautions were taken. All of staff wore masks and for breakfast, we were provided with gloves to get continental items from the buffet. All tables were wiped down immediately after a party left and were socially distanced. The hotel is in close proximity to just about everything. During our 5 day stay, we visited The Open Air Museum, the Venetian Glass Garden, Gora Park, and The Red Gate of Peace. We will definitely be returning and look forward to our next stay in the Spring.

The hotel room is very beautiful and very clean. The room has a private wind palace and you can enjoy the hot spring at any time. The room is larger than many Japanese hotels. I am very satisfied. The hotel is only 5 minutes' walk from Chugora. It is very convenient. The staff is very polite and understands English. and Mandarin, dinner was also delicious, will definitely come again!

We used the Fuji Hakone pass and will have to stay one night in the Hakone area. We picked this hotel because it’s right next to the Gora station and later on we also found out that the bus stop to take the bus to Fuji area was just next to the hotel. They helped us to keep our luggage before we went further to Owakudani and Lake Ashi. Food is fantastic. We have dinner and breakfast at the common dining area. They didn’t offer free drinks like other onsen hotels might do. We stayed at the room with outdoor bath and found out later before the trip that the water is not real onsen water but regular water. However, with the location, this is unbeatable.

The facility itself was good, but it was very cold inside. It was also very inconvenient that toothbrushes and razor towels had to be paid. There doesn't seem to be a need to pay for towels.

I stayed １ with breakfast in July, and this time I stayed ２ with breakfast and dinner at repeater. The special point is that ① Owakudani Onsen and ２ You can enjoy the kind of source of Gora Onsen ➁ Room large TV, and the location is good for sightseeing ③ You can watch movies between hot springs. ７ I went to Owakudani in the moon. Unexpectedly, this time, I was able to see the procession of daimyo in Hakone near Hakone Yumoto Station. Gora Park, Gora Station, and the Sculpture Forest Museum are within walking distance. Breakfast is a buffet, so you can adjust the variety and volume yourself. The dinner was a course meal, fashionable, delicious and moderate amount. You can also go to the rooftop terrace, and if the weather is nice, the stars may look beautiful. It was good that there were multiple fun other than hot springs.

Pleasantly surprised by the large room we got, with an enclosed balcony overlooking the lush green valley. Spacious bathroom. Clean room. Excellent onsite onsen - enjoyed the experience. Lovely dining areas and sushi restaurant. Free pickup from Odawara Shinkansen station (45 min ride to hotel). Hotel offers free dropoff and pickup to local train station so you can comfortably take the cable car to Lake Ashi. Highly recommend the cable car, boat across Lake Ashi and Hakone's open air museum.

We stayed here for two nights. The staff are very friendly and helpful. The location is near Gora Station, just few minutes walk. There's a common lounge and a small kitchen. There's a rooftop where we can gather there to relax and chill out. Also at the ground floor, there's a recreation area. Overall the stayed is very pleasant. Hope to go back again.

I stayed in the dormitory.. As far as dormitories go in my limited experience (being the first time) I think it was great. Clean, tidy, each bed had a privacy curtain, access to every thing service was great - I should have asked her name. She explained everything really well. And in English ..bless.. Price for the dormitories was reasonable. I wanted a place to just sleep to break up my Hakone trip. They sent me a list of Restaurant options and coffee shops prior to coming. It has a kitchenette and a shared space. The shared space could be cosied up a bit with a lounge chair or something. But it's clean, it has some books, cards dining table and chairs. Restaurant food is good and reasonably priced. Breakfast option. Coffee shop a couple of doors down. So close to the station. It's ridiculous. Close to the museum. You could go as a group. 6 bunks in my room.. save you booking 2 rooms. Great experience...

The hotel is very new, the hot springs are available in addition to the room B1 and there are hot springs. There is a free private reservation on the 4th floor. The food is very good and delicious. The staff is very good at English communication.

Stayed for one night and enjoyed the onse. The onse was man and woman separate. Further there is the possibility for a private onse. Make sure to ask for a private onse with a good view out.
