Excellent location with lovely views of the bay and ice bergs. The breakfast is typical with choice of eggs, bacon and sausage plus breads and cereals and cheese. Most rooms face the bay. Complimentary WiFi which is strong in the lobby areas. Outside seating is very nice. Lovely hotel.

You need to definitely arrange a transfer from the airport as it is a long way to the hotel. The room was a decent size. We were glad it had somewhere to hang our coats. The view out the window is straight out to a view of the icebergs moving past. The hotel is long and thin so that all windows look towards the Bay. Breakfast was a good spread for those who don't have dietary restrictions. I mainly ate boiled eggs. They didn't have decaf coffee so I used my own. The walk into the village centre is about 1.7km and over a couple of hills so you have to decide how many times per day you'll do it. We would go in once, meet our tour, and have an early dinner before walking back. There are taxis and we used them a couple of times, especially after the 2.5 hour headland walk! One taxi driver took us to the large supermarket so we could get some supplies. The hotel's selling point is definitely the view.

The staff are polite when you check in, but rude when you are leaving. We were at the front desk at 10:05 (checkout is 10:00) and were berated for being late, and told they would now no longer honer the free transfer to the airport. Also, the breakfast bar is weak. Hotel Arctic is much more affordable, has better views, and a much better breakfast bar. It's a bit farther away, but there are hourly shuttles to/from town.

Great location and view, excellent food, and friendly helpful staff that work as a team and want guests to have a positive experience. Also the hotel is allied with a tour company that enables easy access to great outings to see icebergs, whales, glaciers etc. Highly recommend !!

STAY ANYWHERE BUT HERE Really disgusting! The bed sheet was wet. I took the sheet off and the mattress was urine soaked. Some kind of mold sliding down the bathroom wall from the ceiling to the floor, and a bugger wall next to the toilet. The manager said they couldn’t do anything about it because they are overwhelmed in the high summer season and don’t have the appropriate staff available. I left and went to Hotel Hvide Falk. When I showed them the photos I took of the mattress, mold, and bugger wall at Hotel Icefjord, they set me up in a nice room and gave me a free night.

The highlight of this place was the staff, who were universally friendly, professional, and helpful. The breakfast was good, and the transfer shuttle was nice, but buyer beware: “standard” rooms are anything but. I booked 8 months before my stay and attempted to rent one of the off-site apartments the hotel offers - however, this reservation was canceled, and I was rebooked in the main hotel. My stay was staggered with other shorter trips to the surrounding area, and I wound up staying in 3 different rooms The first room was a “special” room for solo travelers. I’d booked a standard room and, based on website photos and description, was expecting a double bed, space to move around the room, a view of the water. However, I was assigned a tiny room with a twin bed that took up most of the room, and a window that looked at the apartment building next door. It lacked basics like coat hooks, a nightstand, a read lamp, or a functioning wardrobe - and yet, it cost just as much as other rooms. The next room was adjacent to the kitchen, where I could hear cooking, conversation, and the staff’s music from 6am-almost midnight. Banging on the wall and the constant noise of the kitchen ventilation systems were added bonuses. The second room was larger and had the basics you’d expect in a hotel room, but due to kitchen noise, I actually wound up wearing earplugs anytime I was in my room, it was that loud! The third room was adjacent to the lobby and dining hall, so also very loud - patrons were audible from early morning until late at night. The dining room windows also had a direct view into the hotel room - no privacy here. As other guests have noted, wifi is weird in this hotel, and it did not work in this room. Hotel Icefiord advertises itself as a premier hotel and “peaceful retreat” on their website. That was absolutely the opposite of my experience, and given the cost of this hotel, I’m deeply disappointed. I stayed in three different rooms, and all were subpar. I highly recommend you book elsewhere!

Be aware - short notice rejection of your booking! We booked months ago for a stay of almost a week. A room with balcony and bay view to the ice fjord. A very very special holiday for us. The Ice Fjord Hotel is not the cheapest one on sight, yes we especially decided that it is worth it being close to the ocean. For us it should have been the highlight of our stay in Greenland. A few weeks before our stay the reservation was cancelled. They booked us a room in another hotel claiming that there was a mistake in the booking system. We found out that a private company booked all room for a few days in the same week, the complete hotel. Must be a lot of money for the hotel. Yet, that is not the way you are treating your guests!

The hardware of the hotel was fine, warm and clean rooms, with great views. However, i found the customer service lacking. Firstly, they forgot about the hotel pickup from airport even though i had emailed a few days before my trip to remind them. In the end i had to get the airport staff to call them to come get me. Also, the staff at the front desk mostly could not answer any questions asked them, including meeting point for a Disko Line explorer tour ( which is fairly basic in my opinion). In addition, when i asked about the room type i booked (standard double room stated as 1 double bed on *******), i was told it's always just 2 single beds joined together, and that if i want a double bed, i need to top up ( but all i wanted was the room i booked!). The front desk called the female manager in, but she was not particularly friendly nor warm either and came out with a face like i was being troublesome to ask. The only wonderful staff i met was Leva at the restaurant, who was truly competant, and explained every dish beautifully. The male server at breakfast (i forgot his name!) was also courteous and kind.
