It was my first time to go abroad alone, and I went to Yakushima to participate in nature experience activities and a self-guided travel itinerary.
I stayed at this hotel twice during this trip: the first time I booked accommodation on the platform; the second time I stayed here temporarily due to an unexpected situation with another hotel I booked.
For a foreign traveler who doesn't understand the language and is going abroad for the first time, he feels the friendliness and kindness of the service staff here. In particular, the service staff at the counter and restaurant were very patient and waited for me to use translation software to communicate, which made me feel a lot of warmth.
The hotel is very close to the airport, less than 5 minutes' walk away. The environment inside the museum is very comfortable and well-equipped. The lobby, rooms, soup pools, and restaurants are all clean and tidy, and the atmosphere is very relaxing.
Meals need to be purchased separately, and suitable private rooms will be provided according to the number of travelers during the meal. Dinner is a 10-course kaiseki meal, and breakfast is a 6-course side dish plus a buffet (I haven’t ordered lunch, so I don’t know). Most of the meals were very delicious, except for a few that were a bit salty for my taste. In particular, some local ingredients and seasonings will be used, which will make people feel more connected to this place.
In terms of cost, the price is on the high side for people who are used to staying in backpacker hostels. At the same time, after moving in, I feel that the overall environment and services are well worth the price.
For travelers who want to travel quietly, relax and slowly, if the finances allow it, I highly recommend this hotel!

We spent 2 nights here at the beginning of March and absolutely loved it. We had two Japanese style rooms (one per person), with Tatami mats on the floor and Futons as a bed. We had a toilet, but a bit strangely no shower, which was not a problem, because in the indoor and outdoor baths, there are good shower facilities. The rooms are a bit small, but totally okay for one person (for two persons it would be a bit crowded). The indoor and outdoor baths are lovely and as usual, separated by gender. We had halfboard included, which was amazing. Dinner is a several courses Kaiseki dinner, and really tasty and diverse. If you dont eat meat, seafood and fish, you will not be happy however. Breakfast is a japanese bento box, and a small buffet. For lunch, you can order a bento box, which we did, and which was very tasty and the best bento box I had so far in 3 trips to Japan. Staff is very friendly, and even if they dont speak much englisch, they really go out of their way to help. The Ryokan is just opposite the small airport, where there is also a bus stop. In easy walking distance there are two supermarkets, and a very good italian restaurants (Il Mare), which make excellent pizza and pasta, using local ingredients like ****ake mushrooms and boar meat. The buses run very unfrequently, so you are better off with a rental car. Its excellent value for money, especially if you love japanese food.

We stayed 4 nights, and enjoyed Onsen everyday, bento box lunch for our days trips and dinner on 3 nights. Staff were very helpful with ideas to explore the island.
