Ambient is good with loving people and outstanding service from top to bottom level !

It's hard to dislike this place as the view makes up for a lot. Some of the amenities are a bit dated. We had some bad luck with our jacuzzi tub not working properly but after we got the staff to understand what was wrong they came and fixed it. They are very accommodating and they really do their best to make your stay as nice as possible. Pay the extra money for the breakfast. It's really worth it. So much choice and made with care. The one big downside really is that you have to hike the monkey trail or catch a boat to get to Ao Nang. And the hotel food prices are a bit on the high side. We didn't mind ourselves, but if you have difficulty climbing the stairs it might be inconvenient. At night the longtail boats from Ao Nang Beach ask a ridiculous amount of money to ferry you to the hotel. On the plus side; you get an amazing view every time you look out your window. The bed is comfortable. The food (if you don't mind the cost) is tasty. The staff is super nice. The pool is great. Did I mention how amazing the view was already? It really is a tranquil place and we enjoyed our time there immensely. So, no 5* but that's only 'cause I think the attention to detail could be a bit better for the price range.

The resort is located very close to Ao Nang, but at the same time it is completely by itself. A real perfect location. Getting to and from by boat and Monkey trail makes for a really special place. The restaurants, food and breakfast were amazing. Loved the monkeys that would come right on to our deck. Would easily come back here again with my family

Very very disappointed with conditions of room. Very pool and old really not really to use. It could be better but spent two days there . Had problems both days! But view was amazing! Won’t go back again spent too much money but got very cheap facilities room condition!

This is from a USA traveler's point of view. Beautiful secluded resort nested in a National park. Think of it like 80's Fantasy Island and or HBO the White Lotus without the 5 star service amenities. You were whisked away in the Centara boat to their resort from the pier. Don't think of free fancy Wynn Boston boat that takes you to Boston harbor or Wynn hotel!! This is just your normal ordinary boat. You were greeted at the dock and individualized check-in. We stayed in an ocean front/ocean view room with an outdoor Jacuzzi. The room is very dated and so so quite disappointed for a 5 star resort. It's unfortunate that it's quite run down. The bath towels have strings hanging because they were worn out, very tattered indeed. It took forever for room service like ice buckets, and house keeping for fresh towels. It seems like they don't have enough towels around for guests and you get warm fresh out of the dryer worn out towels.i opened a door that exposed the crawl space, and FOUND a giant lizard!!! That's about 7 inches, and shut that door never to open it again during our stay. It took us 2 phone calls to the house keeping and 2 phone calls to the room service to get what we wanted. The Thai hospitality is there. They are very very sweet and polite. This is the land of smile. They are very gracious as host. It's just very unfortunate that this resort just doesn't live up to what we expected from a 5 star resort in let's say Hawaii. I have stayed in a 2010 resort in Hawaii and very well kept and maintained. Centara Grand Resort is not one of them. There's a saying, location, location and location. This Centara Grand Resort is that!!!I can't dispute that. The private beach is very nice, and the view is to die for. At the end of my stay, I'm glad to escape this fantasy Island.

Our stay here was good and we enjoyed the location, a lot. There were some hiccups at the very start of our holidays with regards to luggage arriving at the resort (hours after we arrived meaning we couldn’t get changed for dinner) and issues with the door in our room. However, we were upgraded rooms and the team were extremely attentive.

The worst staff ever seen in my life. Racism is on the top of it. Staff don’t know how to talk to customers. For check you have to wait and for check out they force you to leave anyhow by 11:00am. You can’t get your babies Bottels washed as they don’t have sterile services and not even they wash it with hot water and on the top of it their staff have the guts to say “ you should bring your sterilizer and should have planned before coming”. When I complained about this the manger have no answer for it. If you have white skin then you will get service on time else you will feel that you haven’t paid for the property service. I will also raise those complaints to Thailand consulate that this kind of activity is going on here. If you want milk for baby or you want towels or you want them to clean room or any other kind of service then you should take your servant with you because you are not getting these kind of services in this property. It’s an honest review and I think people should consider before going.

Great location away from the main area. Accessible by boat only. can walk the trail...without luggage. everything comes in by boat each morning (and out)which makes you aware of the waste people make. Green and serene.

The hotel has an incredible location but there are some “details” that need urgent review! One of them is the worn-out flip-flops, completely unacceptable in a 5-star resort! The same goes for paper napkins in all restaurants. Furthermore, the room needs maintenance, there was a hole in the bathroom ceiling, the taps have rust marks, there is mold around the sink and even the toilet has dirt marks. The lavatory room doors are also damaged, as are the blinds, which are impossible to lift. Small details that are not acceptable when we want a top of the range hotel. The entire hotel is aged. With plastic sunbeds where the mattress does not fit perfectly. Roofs with missing pieces. Little things that don't ruin the experience, but would be good to see again. I tried several times to contact reception to understand the costs involved in using the boat and communication was also not easy. Furthermore, when it comes to sustainability, they still use disposable plastic objects, namely straws. However, the staff was helpful and the SPA is incredible!
