The transportation is convenient. Exit 3 of Kyoto Shiyakusho Station on the Tozai Subway Line leads directly to the downstairs of the hotel. Although the facilities are not smart enough, they are well maintained and easy to use. The service is particularly good. The Japanese breakfast set menu is exquisite and delicious, and the buffet breakfast has both Japanese and Western styles, as well as Chinese steamed dumplings and siomai. It is very close to Kamogawa. There are many delicious restaurants in nearby Kiyamachi (mainly Western) and Pontocho (mainly Japanese). The restaurant is relatively late. The three nearby commercial streets are also very lively, and most shops close early. The view from the room is great, as is the view from the breakfast restaurant.

The room was very very nice! Don’t mention the 13 square meters shown on the introduction, it should be at least 50 square meters. There are guest rooms, rooms, and bathrooms are separated. The toilet is on the other side. All are covered with bamboo mats. It is very comfortable and clean, and the white socks are not stained with dust. When we arrived, the bath water had already been placed in the pine wooden tub, and everything should be put in a place where we could easily get it. There is a faint woody fragrance in the whole room, which is so healing. The service is very thoughtful and meticulous, even if you don't understand the language, you can also dance and communicate. The most memorable thing is that his food is so delicious, it is the most worthwhile hotel in Kyoto. The proprietress is very kind, and will definitely stay here again

This Ritz-Carlton location sitting on Kamogawa and Hagashiyama mountains, is one of the best locations to stay in Kyoto. The architecture is gorgeous on every level as you enter the hotel. You feel transported to a particular place that you will never forget. In addition, the quality of service the Ladies and Gentlemen provides goes above and beyond any other Ritz-Carlton location. Staying at the Kamogawa Executive Suite was an unforgettable experience. Approximately 1350 sq. ft., the suite provides luxury accommodations that exceed the highest expectations of any guest. The bathroom is gorgeous, especially the bathtub, where the wall and bathtub are decorated with sakura flowers. The bed is comfortable, and the living room is quite spacious. One thing I would have loved to see inside this room is a Genkan to place shoes as you enter the suite. Preserving the floor and rug is necessary and educates foreign guests about the importance of doing this. Another aspect that I loved about this place was Mizuki. Every morning I visited it for a Japanese-style breakfast, and it was a fantastic experience. In addition, I went to one of their sushi demonstrations and felt that I had a lifetime supply of sushi. Every bite was delicious, and the chef went above and beyond to make every guest feel special. Please make reservations for kaiseki, tempura, teppanyaki, and of course, sushi during your stay in advance. The spa is also a must if you are staying in this location. It is one of my most relaxing experiences, and the facilities are excellent. As you enter the spa, all the details regarding the walk to the counter or attendant, the changing room, and the pool area are planned quite well, so the guest can feel extra special and disconnected from reality. Finally, I must recognize the Ladies and Gentlemen's hard work and dedication at the Ritz-Carlton, Kyoto. Thank Ana and Naoto, for your friendly welcome to the hotel and making things possible during my stay. Chef Tomohiro Goda and his team provided an experience I will never forget at Mizuki. Naoki was friendly and helpful as I researched information. Pablo and Thain were attentive to my needs as I left the hotel and provided a great experience as I checked out. Special thanks to Carlos for leading such a fantastic Ritz-Carlton property in Japan and consideration prior to my stay. This is one of the top Ritz-Carlton properties I have stayed in, out of 25 Ritz-Carlton. I will cherish all the memories that I gained from this place and will make sure to come back in the future.

The location is excellent and right in the downtown of Kyoto but not in the front street which will be too crowded and noisy, still there were some noisy from the restaurants and bar nearby which still played loud music even after 12:00AM, so not ideal for those people who needs total silence to sleep. This is probably the necessary evil when live in the downtown hotel, but the hotel is already in the back alley so felt a bit better. Cannot consider the service top quality since the hotel front desk is located at 8th floor, and there is only one person tending the luggage at ground level till 6PM, so no service can be offered at ground level, this is the part can improve since some of the high floor hotel do have ground floor service crew unless in a big commercial building complex. The room is nicely decorated and everything feels new, no complaint about the room. Although the breakfast is a bit disappointed given the very limited selection of foods and Japanese style breakfast can only offer limited number (25 serving per day?), this part can definitely make some improvement, at least inform the guest about the limited number so we can book in advance.

Generally would like to rate 98/100 to this hotel! 👍🏻Location: Just right beside the subway station! Very convenient to travelers who are not familiar with Kyoto, especially after a tiring trip I just want to get to hotel as soon as possible without any hassles if possible. And the plus point is even this hotel is facing street but it’s quiet and no noise, besides that, along the street go straight down, got a lot of food and shops on shijo high street! 👍🏻Service: Service staff are friendly and professional! They are always keen to listen to your requests and answer your inquiries and follow your instructions accordingly! Surprisingly, they even went extra mile to make their customers more comfortable, I can feel they are taking their pride in their jobs which touches me. 👍🏻Cleanliness and Amenities also on point! The hotel is very new btw. The only 2 advices I would like to mention: 1. For my room type, there is difficulty to fit in big luggage, let alone for 2 persons so in that case please book bigger room. 2. Breakfast choice is quite limited, so if you had high expectation of hotel’ breakfast you might won’t be surprised. I still strongly recommend this hotel to people and will definitely visit it again as I really had a pleasant stay there.

The location is good. Keihan train and bus stations are nearby. There are also coffee shops and restaurants in the downtown area. You can have breakfast in the hall downstairs, but you have to wait for a table. The front desk is polite, check-in is manual, check-out machines are self-service, check-in is at 3pm, and you can store your luggage if you arrive early. The room is spacious, the bedding is comfortable, and the shower has a large flow of water. The only drawback is that the sliding door of the bathroom is a bit noisy.

Love everything about this hotel! The rooms are beautiful. Spa amenities are top notch, with both indoor and outdoor pools. Location is awesome. Short walk to Nishiki market area. Walkable to Gion as well. Access via subway is easy and not too far, but will be a bit troublesome if it rains. Find subway exit 3 which is a handicap lift near Hotel Okura side for easier access with luggage. Short walk to convenience stores and food options.

I stayed at ARU for a week during my trip to Kyoto in late autumn and I was very satisfied! The price/performance ratio is too high. Convenient transportation: Sanjo Bridge and the city subway station are very close. The hotel is only a three- to five-minute walk from the alley to the main street and there are buses. It is super convenient to go anywhere from Arashiyama to Kyoto JR Station. Food and drink paradise: There are many delicious food in the areas of Kiyamachi Dori and Pontocho, and they are open even late at night. Sashimi grilled meat, sushi, fried steak, sukiyaki hotpot... You can choose from high or low, and there are many choices to enjoy every day. The hotel's breakfast is mainly Japanese style, but also simple Western style, salads and various snacks, rice, miso soup, bread and desserts. There were two mornings where there was soup tofu, the pride of Kyoto. The service is also very enthusiastic, and any questions will be answered carefully. Be careful to put a clean room sign when you go out, otherwise it will not be cleaned before the appointed day.

Kyoto Prefecture has an accommodation tax. I was a little surprised when I was charged at check-in because it wasn't mentioned on the reservation confirmation. I thought the price included tax when I made the reservation and prepaid on the app, but I was wrong lol. I can't say anything when I'm told it's only a few hundred yen. I thought it would have been nice if there had been an announcement like, ``You have to pay for something.'' The room was small for the price, the chairs were hard and painful, and the distance between the table and the TV was too close, so I didn't think it was a comfortable room... The shower room probably wasn't cleaned properly after the previous person used it, and there was a very sweaty odor that left me holding my breath every time I went in (lol). I was lucky that there was a large public bath (lol).

You can't watch it directly. It feels weird. There is a temple on the inner side, guarding a group of cemeteries. If you are concerned, please avoid it. For breakfast, you can choose one of the five baked rice dishes, and the others are salad, soup, yogurt and beverage coffee. If you stay for several days, it is not recommended to include breakfast. It would be too monotonous to have the same breakfast every day.

If it's not the peak season and the price is right, the price/performance ratio is okay. Check-in and check-out are all self-service, and you can store your luggage for free. The location is also reasonable. The store is relatively new, so all the facilities are relatively new. The cleanliness can only be said to be average. There were some debris on the floor that was not cleaned when I stayed. You don’t have to choose breakfast, it’s Western style, cold, I know it. If needed, the convenience store can handle it, and it’s cheap.

High evaluation of word of mouth, good cospa, location, choose this. The room has a Japanese taste and is eye-catching with hand wipe art with a slightly unusual pattern. The building itself seems old, but the bathrooms have been renewed and are clean and there is no problem. There are many storage places such as small drawers, and it seems to be useful for long stays, and the chair is comfortable to sit. Lighting is a big problem, the illumination is low and the darkness is disappointing, but the color of this light bulb is so lonely ... I couldn't relax. I slept well on the back side opposite the entrance without noise. Breakfast is quite praised, but it is normal. The location is easy to go anywhere in the city 々, and you can feel rich just by window shopping at the nearby Sanjo-dori boutique.

The hotel is clean and the front staff able to speak English during our check in. They also allow temporary luggage storage after you check out which is good for travellers. The room is relatively tiny for our booked room type, so you have to figure out how to open ur luggage 😅. Overall, the hotel is decent for its price and service provided.

The location is near the station and the Asahikawa is close and no problem. The drinker street is near the suburbs, so it is a very good location for banquet. However, I think the urinary of this inn is good taste of the meal. Anyway, it is good. And the best is rice. The feeling of a little bit of a swell is great. Is it the atmosphere of the meal? It is a pity that it is narrow and the outside is not looking out. The rooms are one view now, but they feel like they are all over. The bath is a bit small, but it may be good to have a large bath.

We had mixed reviews of this accomodation Pros - was a very large room two small doubles and a bunk perfect for families. Amenities are great with wifi, lots of kitchen utensils, stove, tea and coffee supplied, toothbrushes available, washing machine and tablets are provided with an inbuilt dryer system in the bathroom. Bathroom and shower area was also spacious. Beds are on the okay side but could be softer. The area itself is nice and quiet with a bus stop right out from we utilised every day, supermarket and Lawsons are across the road and you feel very safe. Would recommend for families. Cons - check in is in a different location 20minute taxi away so we had to catch a train to the check in office when arriving in Kyoto from Osaka, then a taxi to the accomodation after this which chewed up a few hours as we had to wait 45min in addition to check in due to busyness of the office. The area is a bit out of the way of everything next time I might consider staying at a different resi stay location closer to sights and facilities like shops etc. All the restaurants in the area seem to not open for breakfast until 11am so we had to have McDonald’s if we didn’t want to cook or travel too far for breakfast as we have a toddler (early riser). Same occurred at dinner time a lot of restaurants didn’t seem to be open the Monday or Tuesday we were there or opened too late for us (we travelled with a four year old). Our last disappointment was resi stay apparently have a strict not noise at night policy however another room partied until about 3am but there is no front desk or after hours phone number to call to complain / get the noise to stop. Was very frustrating as walls were very thin so we didn’t sleep very well. Overall we would stay with Resi Stay again but at another location due to Nishijin being a bit too out of the way for us.

After mistakenly going to the other ”Piece Hostel” (the one near the Kyoto Station) where I thought I had booked, I took the subway over to Sanjo. The location is great, in the midst of all the action in restaurants, bars, etc. It is a bit of a hike from the subway, but not too bad. Rooms are small but comfortable and the hostel has a tremendous amount of place for hanging around and a well equipped kitchen. The staff was terrific. Best of all was Oytun, a young man from Turkey who, in 4 years in Japan, has become fluent in Japanese and English. He was extraordinary. Always willing to help with anything and make valuable suggestions. He made the stay a real joy.

Hotel asked to pay accommodation tax upon checking in and insist it is required for all Kyoto hotel showing us two brochures. This is not the first hotel I stayed in Kyoto during this period as i stayed 2 different hotels in Kyoto during this trip, but this is the only hotel that asked to pay for a fee. Though fee is not huge, advise travellers to check clearly before booking. Location is not bad and alot of shops around it but do note car cannot be stopped directly in front of hotel as car could not enter the street as its all shops around it.
