We loved the mood at Gion Koh. It was full of original character, antiques and quiet jazz. We felt like very welcome guests to a family home. Guests' every comfort has been considered. The location is very handy to everything.

Gorgeous traditional house in an exceptionally well-located area of Kyoto. We had the very traditional room - tatami mats and futons on the floor to sleep on. A view of the koi-filled pond just outside our room made it picture perfect. There’s a very adequate shared kitchen and the hotel is walking distance to some great little cafes and restaurants, as well as some of the major temples and shrines in the area. The English speaking host, Hiro, was a great help in pointing out local eating places.

O hotel está bem localizado no bairro de Gion, é possível fazer vários passeios a pé pela região. Também está próximo de pontos de ônibus e metrô! Ficamos em um quarto com banheiro privativo. O espaço é bem conservado e limpo! A casa tem uma história e foi muito interessante se hospedar ali.

和室の畳の部屋に３人で泊まりました。 八坂神社と清水寺の間にあり、五重塔が見える良い雰囲気の立地にあります。 古い日本家屋をリノベーションして整えたような宿です。 そのため佇まいや部屋の作りは昔からある感じですが、洗面所やお風呂は新しく、お風呂に風情は無いものの、追い焚き可能な給湯器や、浴室の断熱もされているようで家のお風呂みたいに快適に疲れを取ることができました。 部屋自体は窓も大きく木造のため、エアコンだけで少し寒いかなと思いましたが、我慢できないほどではなかったです。鯉の泳ぐ内庭や瓦屋根など、窓から見える景色も風情があり、頭に思い描く古都京都へ来たという感じがしました。部屋にテレビが無いので最初は「えっ」と思いましたが、WiFiも繋がるし静かに早く寝られて、これも悪く無いなと思いました。 基本的に放っておいてくれる感じですが、ちょっと相談したい時は親切に対応してもらえて良い距離感だと思いました。全体的に古い京都の雰囲気を味わいながらも、快適に過ごして欲しいというオーナーの気持ちが伝わってくる素敵な宿でした。
