Tsukimi Hotel

A very special travel and accommodation experience. It was my first time to stay in a legendary capsule hotel. The location is very good. It is only a 15-minute walk from the popular Kiyomizudera Temple and is conveniently accessible from Kyoto Station in 20 minutes by bus. The capsule hotel as a whole is stratified and managed according to gender. There are about 18 capsule units in one room. Slippers are required to enter the room. It is equipped with a toilet, bathroom and sink, which is clean and practical. Each capsule room has an exhaust vent for ventilation, and there are up-and-down pull-down curtains at the capsule mouth to ensure internal privacy and sleep quality. There is a coffee bar and a common living room on the first floor of the hotel, which is the first choice for cost-effective accommodation for traveling students.

The handsome guy at the front desk and other staff only spoke Japanese and English. Although I have learned some English and Japanese, I don't use it on a daily basis. Suddenly I changed the language environment and I couldn't understand it at all. The handsome guy at the front desk charged 300 yen for pajamas rental, which I understood to mean 300 yen per night as tax. I told him that the tax was 200 yen per night when I made the reservation, but I don’t know if he understood. Finally, I was asked to take pictures and I understood. I later learned that pajamas are not required to be rented. The material of the clothes is not suitable for wearing as pajamas. I also brought enough changes of clothes. The front desk could actually use translation software to communicate with me. The boss actually used the translation software to communicate with me because something happened. I communicate. I now tell the front desk that the 4-night accommodation fee you printed is not the cost of my reservation. Does Ctrip earn commission? I even made a reservation one and a half months in advance. I will upload the accommodation instructions to future tourists. The hotel is in a very good location and is surrounded by scenic spots. There are Yasaka Shrine, Kenninji Temple and Hanamikoji nearby. Kiyomizu Temple is not far away and can be reached on foot. Kyoto Katsuragi is also nearby, and a group of young front desk staff are energetic, enthusiastic, and eager to help guests.

Location is close to Sannenzaka. It was so frustrating... There are a lot of Westerners. I don’t think I saw any Asians while I was there. The staff are friendly. It was nice that there was a lot of space to rest on the first floor.
