We were not informed that there was a cash only deposit. We were told we would be given a refund the next morning at check out. At 7:30am upon checkout I was told that they couldn’t “check the room” and there would be a bit of a wait. What? Seriously? I paid with a credit card that they said they do not keep on file and that was why they required cash. Never heard of anything like this! She expected us to wait until 9 when housekeeping could “count the pillows, sheets, towels” etc. This was completely unacceptable. It was not our problem that the place was understaffed. Ultimately, we were given our deposit back, but I had to be very firm with the front desk person that the hotels lack of capability to accommodate its guest was not my problem and that I would not be delaying my trip an hour and a half at minimum to check out. We wiill not be staying here again, nor would I recommend it to anyone.
