Now for the good news. The place is very affordable. 450 pula a night for a queen bed room. If you can afford to pay more, try another hotel. We only ended up there because the Cresta was full. When this place was first built, it was probably reasonably nice. My guess is that the owner hasn't invested much in it since then. The property is a few kilometers outside of Maun and thus is not particularly conveniently located. From the moment we got out of the car, I could hear loud music coming from the bar. Not an auspicious start. The receptionist was friendly and helpful and reassured me that the music would be turned off at 9pm (it was 10:30pm). She showed me to my room. There was one towel in total. I had to ask for a bar of soap. The air-conditioner barely cooled the room, even at 17 degrees at the highest fan setting. The carpet was stained in several places. The tv worked but only had 10 channels (not a full DSTV package). The bed was reasonably comfortable but the pillows were old and lumpy. There wasn't a mosquito net. Thankfully the water in the shower was nice and hot and had decent water pressure. There were no toiletries provided so be sure to bring your own. We opted not to have breakfast there which would have been another 75 pula. For an absolute budget traveler, this will do.
