We planned a 5 night stay on the property. The check in could have been more inviting, staff was not so friendly. The hotel room was luxurious and clean everyday that we were there. The property is in a lovely Polanco location that allowed for various dinner options where we can easily walk to. It was very safe and family friendly. The last night of our stay, we were informed of a total blackout from 11:30 pm to the following morning. This turned our experience into an inconvenience as we had expected to leave and check out during the early morning for our 7 am flight. Of course we had to accommodate taking a shower using a flashlight at 2:30 am. Packing in the semi dark was not very fun. If we were informed of this “routine” maintenance to the hotel every January at the time of check in or if it was announced on the website, we could have made other accommodations or chosen the hotel next door, was has always been 5 star above the Hyatt, the Intercontinental Presidente hotel, which we have enjoyed in the past. Overall, this is the primary reason for the average rating.
