Heidelburg Motel

Heidelburg Motel in Mt. Pleasant, IA. Room #117, on Saturday night June 4, 2022. Spider in the bathtub an indication to me that where there's one there's more. No room phones. No table lamp(s), just one overhead light. Shower head is too low for a normal person and hardware is loose. Bed pillows are few (2) and small. Bed seems to be tilted slightly down at the head. Toilet seat is loose and seems to be of low quality. Door lock is not sufficient, it's a knob lock only. Chairs (2) are "different" and are rickety with wobbly legs. The seats compress down into the frame of the chair. The entire array of furniture looks to be the product of a shopping day at Goodwill. Mariachi music was playing across the way with some louder than usual Spanish linguists conversing. There was some sort of domestic disturbance around 11:30 PM and lasted until 01:15 AM next door room. A lady was seemingly locked out of her room by her husband/partner and kept talking (loudly) and knocking on the door. She finally got the motel owner involved and he got things to settle down and back to fairly quiet. Room rate is $70 plus $8.40 taxes and fees (no discounts). It would be considered high at $50 in my opinion. Carpet is worn and ratty looking. Internet is about as slow at the old dial up. Owner is friendly and cordial. We would have left and looked elsewhere, but were both tired and not feeling the best so we just tuffed it out.
