Best Western Sonora Inn & Suites was the perfect and most convenient location from the border for my scheduled Global Entry appointment with the Customs & Border Protection agency. Front desk service was excellent, and check-in was seamless and efficient. I had requested for a specific type of room in advance, and it was accommodated to a tee. Breakfast was hot with a wide selection of pastries, yoghurts and fruits. The room was large, clean and had the usual Best Western amenities I expect, to include a microwave, refrigerator and fast internet. I would definitely stay here if I'm back in this area again.

Upon checkin we didn't get the room we paid for, we paid for an oversized room and the girl at front desk gave us a regular 2 queen beds. When we asked she thats what the computer gave her. Then the gave us 2 room keys and told us to pick a room from the 2. Well one of the room did happen to be the oversized room. Not to mention the first room given (202) door was slightly open. Thats a safety issue.

The property is very clean. However, when i got here the front desk person told me my reservation was for a king bed. I then showed him my confirmation that i had booked 2 double queen beds and not one king bed. The guy then said, oh we dont have 2 queen beds available anymore. I was very upset because i had paid extra for the two queen beds and the guy just said well you can try for a refund where you booked it. Very unpleasant experience.

They’re initially a couple of things that lead to a rocky start. Most importantly was the closet being unable to open more than a couple of inches on either side. I reported this to the front desk and the desk personnel came to the room immediately to check out the situation. She got down on the floor to inspect the door,& determined both doors were off the tracks. She fixed it and showed the housekeeper what to do if that happened in another room. That was a good example of a teaching moment in a professional non threatening communication manner. I was pleased on how it was handled, quickly and efficiently. It will be a go to facility next time I get to stay in Nogales
