The hotel was actually okay. The rooms were small as you know from Japan. All was clean. The rooms were cleaned if you wanted this with a sign at the door. Unfortunately, there was no way in the bathroom to hang up the towels. I would never book this hotel again and can only warn you. We were already scared at the station Dobutsun-Mae from dirty crops. Shin-Imamiya was as terrible as it was. The hotel is located in Japan's largest arms district. For several days the same homeless sat at the entrance of the hotel. We also climbed over unconscious men on the light day. In the darkness we would never have left the hotel. We don't know something like this from Japan. If we could have left the hotel on the first day. Unfortunately we had already paid. With the sirens that are the characteristic of this area, you must also be able to live. We had to watch some of the police chasing.

[ENG]: I've never had such a ridiculous experience at a hotel in any country I've been to. On my final night, I returned to the hotel at around 9:30pm to drop off some things without any problem, but when I returned again about two hours later, I couldn't get into my room. After trying to enter the password several times, I went to the lobby but there was nobody at reception. Instead, there was a sign with three accounts (LINE, WhatsApp and Wechat) and a local phone number. My partner and I added two of these accounts and tried to call and message but nobody picked up or replied. I also knocked on the door to the offices but nobody replied there either. After attempting for quite a while, we finally paid for an account to call international numbers and dialed the Japanese number. The person who picked up said she was not on duty that night and that she would contact the person on shift. A bit later, that person came down in pyjamas and slippers. When I enquired why he hadn't responded to our messages and calls, he said that he was in the shower and ”why didn't [I] call the local number”. I explained the situation to him and he said he would help us after he helped a couple who was checking in (who had just arrived). This took an additional ten minutes in which we were just waiting in the hallway in front of our room with three bags. When he finally arrived, he gave lots of excuses as to why the password might have been changed, but offered zero solutions. He even asked me if I wanted to know the new password since I would be ”checking out the following morning anyway”. This unprofessional attitude completely ruined the entire experience on an otherwise lovely holiday and I write this review in four languages in the hope that nobody else has to fall victim to the same experience.

Overall, it's good. The transportation is very convenient. There is Hanazonocho Station on the Yotsubashi Line downstairs. There are also convenience stores and Matsuya nearby. I rely on these two stores to solve my breakfast problem these days. Rooms in Japan are a bit compact. The area of this hotel is not too big, but basically it doesn’t have much impact even if you take a rest at night. It should have just opened last year, and the decoration is very new. It would be perfect if there were more full-length mirrors. ~

More about Osaka

Introduction to Osaka

Osaka, Japan's third-largest city, is a dynamic metropolis known for its modern architecture, lively nightlife, and hearty street food culture. It is located in the Kansai region on the main island of Honshu. Osaka's friendly locals and a myriad of attractions, including historic landmarks, theme parks, and shopping districts, provide a compelling contrast to Tokyo's hustle and bustle.

Tips for Travelling to Osaka

Osaka is served by two airports: Kansai International Airport and Itami Airport, with Kansai being the primary gateway for international travelers. The city has an excellent public transportation system, including JR trains, subways, and buses. Japan's famous bullet trains also connect Osaka with other major cities.

The official currency is the Japanese Yen (JPY), and while credit cards are widely accepted, it's worth carrying some cash for smaller establishments. The official language is Japanese, and while English is not commonly spoken by older locals, younger generations and service staff at tourist attractions usually have a good understanding.

Visa requirements for Japan vary depending on your country of origin, so always check in advance. Many countries enjoy visa-free access for short-term visits.

Popular Attractions in Osaka

Dotonbori is Osaka's entertainment heart, with its iconic Glico Man sign, an array of restaurants, and exciting street performances. A visit to Osaka Castle, one of Japan's most famous landmarks, is essential.

Universal Studios Japan, a popular theme park featuring Harry Potter World, is a favorite among families. Explore the Osaka Aquarium Kaiyukan, one of the largest public aquariums in the world, or shop 'til you drop in the Shinsaibashi Shopping Arcade.

Weather, Best Time to Visit, and What to Wear

Osaka experiences four distinct seasons. The spring (March-May) and fall (September-November) are the best times to visit, with pleasant temperatures and beautiful cherry blossoms or fall colors. Summers can be hot and humid, while winters are mild but chilly. Depending on the season of your visit, pack accordingly - light, breathable clothing for summer, and warm layers for winter.

Choosing Your Ideal Hotel in Osaka

Osaka offers a wide range of accommodations to suit different travel needs. If you're looking for luxury near attractions, the Intercontinental Osaka in Umeda or Conrad Osaka offer top-notch services and amenities.
