The new Hankyu Hotel (Hotel Hankyu) is a beautiful hotel located in Umeda, Osaka. The hotel is on the top floor of a skyscraper, and the rooms overlook the beautiful scenery of Osaka. The rooms are quite spacious with large windows so you can see the beautiful scenery from the window. The bathroom is also spacious with both shower and bathtub. Free Internet access in the room. Guests can choose to have breakfast in the American or Japanese restaurant. The American breakfast is very rich (even the orange juice is freshly squeezed), but it is an a la carte, not a buffet. The restaurant is open from 7am and you may not catch breakfast if you are catching an early flight. The restaurant offers food delivery to the room, but once I asked for it, the waiter said there was no time and repeatedly apologized. I used to have a bad impression of Japanese hotels. Many hotels are expensive, but the rooms are small and the Western food served in the restaurant is of average quality. However, the new Hankyu Hotel is indeed excellent, changing my consistent view of Japanese hotels.

Conclusion I will never stay at ANA Crowne Plaza Osaka again. The room was the smallest I have ever been at and part of the window was blocked by a wall outside the room. The check in and check out was chaos with a huge queue. The hotel is outdated too. The only positive thing regarding this hotel is the club lounge. Review I arrived with the Shinkassen at Osaka station and the hotel is in walking distance from station. The train station is huge, and I was difficult to find the right exit. The hotel is located in a business area, but there are a lot of restaurants, bars and shops in the neighborhood. Not the right area, if you are a turist. I arrived at 2 pm, where I could not get me room even I am an IHG diamond member. Came back after a couple of hours, where there was a huge queue. Check-in took between 45-60 min. It was the same situation, when I should check out. It is not possible to check out in the IHG app. Even I have the highest status in the IHG program, I got the smallest room in the hotel. It was not possible to open my suitcase in the room - i don’t want it on the bed. The window was partly blocked by wall outside the window. The room is very outdated. I had access to the club lounge, where I had a couple of drinks during the evening and breakfast in the morning. The lounges was ok but it was busy.

The new brand hotel of the Palace Hotel opened in July, so I was able to stay at a good price using GoTo. The location is just outside Dojima underground street. It is located in the south of Kita Shinchi, but the service was good and I was able to stay with peace of mind. The corner studio of 32 square meters stayed. There is a bathtub and shower booth in the space like home called rug in the flooring, and it feels compact. Check in will let you choose tomorrow morning: Japanese or Western. I chose Japanese  last time. There are salmon with white rice and some side dishes , which is very good. The location of the hotel is about three or four streets away from the subway station/urban area. The acceptable range can be walked to the nearby large shopping malls , but  after shopping, I have to take a lot of things back to the hotel. It is a bit difficult. There is a Cantonese-speaking staff at the front desk , there is a surprise, thank you for letting me stay in  smoothly. Will come back again .
