Check-in was a breeze & we loved the trolley service to Fantasy in Lights.
Our first night was rough due to some very loud next door neighbors.
The next night they were gone but above us was the same so I'm assuming very thin walls allowing lots of noise to be heard.
Coffee pot was horrible & asking for extra coffee felt like a burden for the front desk. Room was very clean & the tub was perfect after a cold night touring lights. Overall decent room for an expensive price.

Checkin started at 4
Waited in line to check in, got to desk
Was notified that cottage was not ready and they would call me when ready.
Cottage was ready at 715, had to go back to desk and get key and location of cottage.
Was given an adjustment(not charged for resort fee $40) which i do not think that covers my inconvenience.
Some of the facilities were not open.

It was hard to get information and I finally asked the valet guy some my questions. He was very helpful. I could see that the front desk was under staffed, but this was my first visit and I needed a friendly person. The facility was nice.

Callaway Lodge is beautifully set among the trees and is all decorated for Christmas. The staff is attentive and friendly. A wonderful place for couples or like us, with 20 family members. This resort never disappoints.

The hotel was Beautiful. We enjoyed driving and hiking. We loved the lights.
When we checked in our clerk was not very friendly. He didn't give us any information. And the only other negative was the price of food. It was extremely unreasonable.

Good Stuff: Our room was in the Lodge and had a wonderful view of the lake. We really enjoyed sitting on the balcony and taking in the view. The bed was very comfortable as was the sofa and sitting area.
Bad Stuff:
There is no convenience store/ sundry shop at the Lodge- if you want anything you must drive to town.
We went to the taproom for supper and sat on the patio…but they allowed some patrons to smoke and it smelled awful as a result. We ended up taking our meal back to our room.
Lastly, the Gardens are included with your resort stay… but you pay a $40 resort fee. So essentially you’re still paying for the Gardens! Also the signage at the Gardens is terrible. It’s difficult to determine where to park for the various sites, everything is poorly marked.

The renovations are great. The spa is top-notch. Restaurant food is a bit hit-and-miss.
