We’re staying in room 305 which has the best view of the sea with two beautiful large windows. We booked this stay months ago, and requested this particular room due to previous great reviews. On arrival, we were informed that we are being moved due to a maintenance issue. We have travelled almost 3 hours and looked forward to this for such a long time and we’re so disappointed when the staff informed us that room was not available. We’ve had no notice to say we are being moved and got really upset. Eventually, the maintenance issue was resolved and we were allowed to stay in this room. However, it kind of spoilt our experience, as afterwards, we felt like the “trouble makers”. The electric car charger in the car park wasn’t working so we were unable to charge our car which was a little bit annoying. However, plenty of charging points at Gunwarf Quays. The electric car parking spaces in the hotel car park are also very small; our Tesla almost took up 2 spaces, so be mindful. The room is lovely and kitted out with all the things you might need, I especially appreciated the iron and ironing board, as well as a decent hair dryer. One of the windows doesn’t shut, and a heater was provided but wasn’t needed; the room temperature was spot on. We have paid for breakfast to be included in our stay, but it was a really awkward experience as although the hostess and the rest of the team were polite, we felt really unwelcome. We ended up going out for all of our meals after that. The cooked breakfast was really delicious, though. So all in all, the room and view was good, but the way we were made to feel has really spoilt our experience. So if you’re staying for the view and plan to be out in the day, I’d recommend it. But after our experience, I don’t think we will be back.
