Angela Downtown Hotel

Nice rooms with great views - clean and plenty of space, with a hairdryer, safe and a fridge too which was a nice touch. Breakfast was of a good standard - choice from continental but also some cooked food too. Limited choice for vegetarians or vegans in terms of cooked food ie no vegetarian sausages. Overall I enjoyed my stay despite one thing which let it down (not really the fault of the hotel, more so the arrangement in place). Due to building works, the gym was out of use which we had been informed of before coming - Jet2 informed us of this and said that there would be a shuttle to take us to and from the hotel to a sister hotel about 15 minutes away. We arranged with reception easily and were taken to the sister hotel. We used the gym and arrived at the reception at the agreed time. A black van with the sister hotel logo (same as before) pulls up but the driver says ours will be along in 10 minutes. Another one comes along but people get out and the driver says the van is not for us but instead for a group going to the airport. He then contacts his supervisor and says that we have to wait half an hour to be taken back to the hotel. Really just not convenient at all - we should have been given a drink or something while we waited. I just don’t understand how you can get something like that so wrong and not even offer us compensation for it. If anyone is travelling whilst these building works are still happening I would just say it isn’t worth it. The gym wasn’t even good and it was just such a faff on.

The hotel room was infested with bugs Both of us were bitten so bad we had to get antibiotic cream The shower head was dripping with mould when we complained they took 4 days to replace shower head Love holidays who we book through done nothing to help as when you call their help line it does not recognise the selection chosen to speak with someone I tried their chat service which was total waste of time We had to book ourselves into another hotel as we could not cope with the dirt and bites I would never stay in this hotel again Love holidays will not compensate us for the horrific experience and having to pay for another hotel Think before you book with love holidays as their after sales service and help centre are a complete waste of time the do not help in anyway they put the blame to the hotel and refuse to help

Friendly staff, good location to beach and old town . plenty of nice restaurants to eat and bars , I stayed on 4th floor, room was quiet , clean with a nice little balcony, bed was comfortable I slept well at this hotel. Breakfast was ok plenty of options .

We stayed at this hotel from the 31st of August to the 7th of September… and every moment was brilliant! We stayed in a superior pool view room, however our friends in the hotel had a standard side view room which was just as spacious and clean. To start, the reception staff were kind and helpful from start to finish, my partner unfortunately fell ill half way through the holiday, and the hotel staff went over and beyond to help us get him to hospital and back from the hospital, providing him with cold drinks to help him feel better. The rooms in the hotel are simple, but clean and tidy. This did not bother us, as we were so impressed by the beds, huge super queen sized beds (5’8) wide for measurements!! And SO comfy… we slept amazing every night. The hotel is small, (which is not what other reviews have said) the hotel has 4 floors and 15 rooms on each floor, which for Rhodes, is tiny. Hence the pool is on the smaller side too. However every day no matter what time, we never struggled for a sunbed. The sunbeds are amazingly comfy, thick memory foam like fabric, you could fall asleep on!! There are free lilos, floaties, woggles, and baby floats for everyone to use which was lovely for us, we sunbathed on the lilos a lot! The breakfast was a lovely surprise, from the reviews we were sceptical, however we were surprised to find, fresh fruit, cereals, hams and salamis, cheeses and breads, your classic English breakfast bits, and even more on offer each morning. Some reviews have mentioned that the breakfast only offered “eggs and sausages” this is NOT what we experienced. The hotels is in the centre of everything. A 3min walk to the left side of the island, where you can watch the sunset. And a 8min walk to the right side of the island, where the old town, cove beaches, and harbour are. The hotel over all blew us away, for such reasonable prices we had the most relaxing and comfortable time. And we’re able to do so many activities because we were in the centre of town. This was my first (but not my last) trip to Rhodes Island in Greece. My whole experience was excellent. The staff at Angela hotel were amazing and made me feel welcome and at home. I look forward to coming back again. Dina, who worked at the front desk, was especially sweet and helpful. I never felt like I was bothering her and she always had a solution for my problem. I was there during the time there were fires on the island, but this did not affect my stay at all. If I hadn't heard it ahead of time, i would have never known there were fires happening. The room was immaculately clean and the beds were SO comfortable! The pool was very nice as well. You won't be disappointed.

Where do I start… This hotel looks totally different to the pictures online this was the first disappointment, the beds are so slidy, very dull rooms they need improving and everytime we had a shower the bathroom would flood. You have to go to a different hotel for breakfast and it is the worst excuse of a breakfast I have ever seen. The choice was from mini hot dog sausages, fatty bacon, cakes and biscuits. I complained to the manager and she was very unprofessional so were the 2 girls on reception. The manager said I was the first person in 15 years to complain about the breakfast so I shouldn’t be complaining and I should go to my travel agent who I booked with, wasn’t interested in resolving at all. The sunbed situation is appalling, a big city hotel and they have 14 sunbeds available, we had to go to a different hotel pool everyday! The reception girl unlocked and came into our room unannounced twice!! As we had the iron but I just felt unsafe after this. Walls are so thin you can hear neighbours conversations and the hotel doors slamming are so loud. The only good thing about this hotel was the location as you are right in the centre of everything. Wouldn’t stay here again but would return to Rhodes 100%, they definitely need to speak to their staff about customer service!!!

Hotel is located close to everything, nice restaurants and shopping near by. Breakfast was served in another hotel 50 meters away. It's was good with a lot of selection. Pool area was nice and most days I had no problem finding a sun chair. There was a nice cafe across the street where I got coffee in the afternoon. The only downside to the hotel was that I could hear everything from the room next to me. I don't know if it was a walls or the air vent. In any case, half of the week there was a group of girls next to me. They were so loud they woke me up every night when they returned from the bar at 4AM. I wore ear plugs and I could still hear them. After they checked out, I was able to sleep again. If you are a light sleeper like me, this might be an issue. Other than that, I would definitely consider staying here again.

This hotel has a really good location, nice staff and good breakfast (in sister hotel near by). Our room was also okay, but in the shower the sewer did smell nasty, You did notice this only there thow. Cleaning in the room seemed bit quick I think, stayed there 3nights and our bed looked the same all the time. Been here once before, and hotel was more quiet in august 2022 but now there was more young people in high season. So nights were more louder and people in the next room were banging doors and so on. Overall would go again and recommend, value for the price okay.
