Clarion Suites Roatan at Pineapple Villas

Best place to stay for great value, amazing staff, wonderful restaurants, gorgeous property, safe location…..my husband and I spent 9 nights here. Besides the beautiful property, the staff really stood out to us in terms of accommodation, kindness, and making us feel at ease. They were very resourceful, worked hard to solve our WiFi issues (they recently switched to Starlink which is lightning fast!), and we adored William (spa), Doel, Felix, and Endry (front desk), and Angelo (Pineapple Grill). What a great crew! The restaurants were stellar, with all the staff being so kind and the food being DELICIOUS! The architecture of the property was genius! We cannot wait to return!

con's first - then pro's below: Con's - Was here on business. Don't recommend this if you need good wifi to stay connected and work remotely. Impossible to accomplish anything. Herby's bar and grill is ok if you want sports bar vibe, but not good for meal after meal. I asked for steamed vegetables and they looked at me like I was crazy. Good food, but not stellar and basically a meat and bread menu. Even salad was just lettuce with almost no other veg in it. Loud, uncomfortable seating, and pricey for the quality. Pro's - front desk staff were spot-on, professional, friendly and helpful. Pools were plentiful, clean. General atmosphere was relaxing and well-maintained. Shuttle service was timely, spotless and professional. Ok to vacation here if you don't mind limited wi-fi and can travel offsite to have a change of food options. Security and lighting was plentiful/ever present and I would have no worries staying here with spouse in the future. Rooms were clean, quiet, comfortable and reasonably supplied. Nice vibe overall.

Great place to stay and property has everything you need right there within the security monitored gates so be need to leave the property. Staff is amazing and is very attentive to the customers as well as knowledgeable and offer any help you need with a smile. The rooms are very spacious and well taken care of. Free airport shuttle to and from Private beach that will leave you wanting to re book before you leave. Restaurants are grey and at a decent price also have a fantastic sports bar with 34 TV’s and live Island DJ. This is a must visit place when in Roatan Honduras

An extremely beautiful and well kept property with friendly staff from end to end. This place was the breath of fresh air we needed after the nightmare we experienced at the “Paradise” island resort. Thanks for a wonderful experience!

Beware! I already took time to review this property but they took it down. Scheduled a pick up from airport but shuttle never came. Had to take expensive taxi there. Food is so so. Restaurant service poor. Room was dark, dated, not the cleanest, and had ants in bathroom. It takes a lot for me to negatively review an experience because it can affect a lot of people but customers need to know this to make an informed decision. Hope your experience is better.

Overall, this hotel was very average. While the hotel was very far from anything, it was very quiet. You can walk to the grocery store, some fast food places, and a gas station but overall the location is not like the West End and is very remote. They advertise as having free private beach access but if you book through a third party website they charge you $20 with $15 of that being a food/drink voucher for the island. They have a hotel shuttle but beware as you might end up stranded how I was. I took the shuttle to the private beach but no one was there to pick me up so I ended up walking the roughly on mile back to the resort. They were very adamant that you cannot walk to the beach yet I was able to walk in 20 minutes. Also, when I was dropped off at the beach pier I ended up waiting an hour for the boat that takes you from the pier to the private island. The free shuttle goes to the airport but only at certain times so be prepared to wait hours at the airport if you want to make use of the free shuttle. The food at Herby's was average at best. I would have preferred more local food on the menu but it was filled with American cuisine. The grounds were nice and clean. The pools are all nice but the water is very cold. Almost too cold to go swimming.

The one thing this place has going for it is the friendly staff, and it is secure. If you like that Florida motel 6 vibe (I was expecting to see pink flamenco's pop out at any time) then you will love it here. They have 4 pools, all freezing cold. THEY ARE NOT BEACH FRONT, and you are super ISOLATED if you don't have a rental car. Their spa is nice, but you will drown in massage oil when you get your massage (Better priced and nice and deep in comparison to the other hotel we stayed at). The Grill and breakfast diner are your American greasy food way-too-much-on-your-plate feed 5 people in one dish proportions. Also reasonably priced, so if you love the all you can eat buffet style food then this is for you. Our room had a broken safe, 2 lights that didn't work. smelled of smoke, and only outlet that worked was the one in the bathroom. The front desk guy likely got sick of us complaining and got manager approval to switch to the 1 bedroom condo next door that was very big. We were in a small room as we didn't plan on spending much time in the hotel room (6am airport departure next day). I could totally see a large family coming here and staying in the very spacious 2 bedroom condo and renting a car, feeding their family on the giant meals and having a great time in the plunge pools.... This place however was just not for us. Also, at 5am, both mornings we were there, the gardener or maintenance guys start running their very loud blowers and generators etc... So bring plugs!

This is a mixed use property, some residences, some hotel. The room was clean, but small and no view (think inside cruise ship room). Wifi did not work in room 123. Front Desk staff were hit or miss. Hotel shuttle did not show on several occasions leaving us stranded. Onsite restaurant options are limited and very Americanized. Grounds are very well maintained and pools are lovely and never crowded. Definitely do not stay without car rental. Will not visit again.

Stayed 2 nights, Jan. 1-3 2022. The hotel was OK for that, but the room sucks, so definitely not more than that. The room is bare and tiny, but functional (appears to be second bedrooms from condo units that are being rented). Don't get me wrong, it was clean and functional, the bathroom had been updated etc. However it was bare, with a window giving onto the side of another building a few feet away. Outside areas are another story. The pool (I only used the main pool) was great! Clean, waterfalls give great shoulder massages etc. Ate there for the 2 days (Pineapple grill in the morning, Herby's for a late lunch/dinner each day. The staff is great (warm and friendly Roatan culture), the food is REALLY tasty with generous portions, and very reasonably priced! I was very pleasantly surprised. All in all, I spent as little time as possible in my room, and truly enjoyed my 2 days and would return, but not for more than 2 days. I spent another week there in a beach resort, obviously higher price, but more than 2 days with no view would be too much. Note though for anyone looking for nightlife etc, this hotel is in central Roatan. I asked about a taxi to west-end to go have dinner one of the nights, $80USD round-trip. So if you're looking to get out and have fun, you had better stay closer to west-end.
