Overall a lovely experience, very luxurious. The check-in process was particularly notable—it didn’t feel like many hotels where you stand at a counter to check in, instead your luggage is taken to a counter and you’re seated in armchair while the concierge checked you in. A nice touch! The rooms are extremely spacious, with even the fairly basic room I booked having a seating and dining area. Everything in the room (curtains, lights, AC) is controlled via an iPad, which also felt very nice. The bed was comfy, view of the Bund was stunning both at night and during the day, and the bed was comfy. The added amenities like a Nespresso machine, selection of Chinese teas, and bath salts for the huge circular bathtub were all greatly appreciated. The breakfast had a good variety of Chinese (especially Shanghainese) and western options, mostly on-par with other 5-star hotels in China. Not bad but nothing to make it stand out. My complaints are few, but worth mentioning: 1.) the AC in the room just wasn’t that effective. Even though the weather is cooling down in Shanghai, the room seemed stuffy. I cranked it all the way down to 15 C but still woke up too warm. 2.) I left my room in the evening briefly to grab some takeaway I had ordered and when I returned there was a staff member in my room!! He was placing a plate of fruit on the table (which id lovely and not the reason I’m complaining). I was quite startled and said “hello” in Chinese and looked a bit shocked but he didn’t say a word or apologize and just ran out while staring at me. Perhaps he only speaks Chinese, saw I was a foreigner and thought I couldn’t speak Chinese…not sure. It was definitely a strange encounter.

We used to always love staying at the Indigo, but haven’t stayed since covid… We were disappointed as the hotel is starting to look a little tired, things need replacing, breakfast had much less choice than previously available. None the less we booked into the Micheline Char Restaurant for New Years Eve dinner with friends looking forward to a great meal and drinks to celebrate the Year … (the food was great) however at 9:30 we were told we had to leave by 10pm after such an expensive meal and wine it seems ridiculous on any night let alone New Years Eve.. The swimming pool was closed and it wasn’t mentioned until we turned up in our swimsuits to have a swim. It didn’t ruin the stay but I don’t think we’ll be rushing back..

Great location to visit the Bund, Yun Garden and City God Temple anytime. Booked the family suite room as a first timer. The room has two beds, enough space for up to 4 person and a living room. Room facing Landmark view (a sculpture). Top notch bidet toilet bowl, automatic closure and opening plus heating of the pad. Down side is the room was stuffy and hot during cold season. Heating system is centralised and the most the hotel staff can do is to provide an additional fan in the room to help with the ventilation. Presume this will the problem of most hotel who use centralised heating/cooling system. Staff is accommodating when you ask for their help. Standard of service is acceptable for me.

Selected the hotel as a trip.com diamond member and was offered to be given the benefit of accessing the hotel lounge which turned out to be a disappointment as the so called happy hour had nothing much except a couple of plates of snacks and some drinks. The lounge service is pretty ordinary, staff there were kind of so bored standing round. This is a total gimmick from both the hotel and Trip.com . However, the breakfast was good with a nice range of selections and decent service. Overall, the hotel amenities are starting to look dated and tired and the pool was tiny with the surrounding facilities look also a bit shabby. The 5 star status remain to be challenged.

Because the hotel's service is so good and its location is so good, we immediately returned to the Oriental Royalton Hotel after completing our other itineraries. This time we also chose the beautiful Bund River View Room. The room is spacious and comfortable, with a view of the Pearl Tower and a panoramic view of the Bund. The overall service level of the hotel is high, and the waiters are always careful with our large and small luggage, especially my daughter who brings her valuable golf equipment to the game. When you arrive at the lobby in the afternoon, the front desk will also deliver freshly baked homemade cookies, which are just right with the free coffee in the lobby. If you need any supplies, the hotel's robot will basically deliver them to the door of your room in a few minutes, which is efficient and hygienic. This time, I would like to express my special thanks and praise to Janice at the front desk. She was on vacation on the day we checked in again, but she still remembered that we were coming back that day and specially ordered the kitchen to send fruits and ice cream for our daughter, which was very considerate. I have been to Shanghai countless times. Compared with another hotel I stayed at on the Bund, Royalton Hotel is much better. I will definitely stay there again next time. Finally, thank you to Linda for sending us a care package when we checked out.

The first time I stayed in this store, I saw that the score was not high. I decided to give it a try. The front desk service was very good and the work was serious. The store manager Ronaldinho was very good and the service was very serious. The room had four computers and two bunks. One person had one bed and one computer. No one in the room smokes for seven or eighty yuan. It can live and play. It is really good. The room has windows and a separate bathroom. It is 100 meters away from the subway station. It is very convenient to travel.

I was looking for a room with a window. I was afraid that the air inside would be bad. The construction outside the night I stayed was so noisy that I couldn't sleep. I changed to a room without a window in the middle of the night and fell asleep. I was really annoyed. This location is in the city center, even if there is no construction, it is not very quiet. It is recommended that children with children can live in a room without windows. The bed was very comfortable. There was a big column in the room. I didn't know what it was. It was blocked and the bed was not very big. The bed in the room I changed later seemed to be sponge, very soft, and each had its advantages and disadvantages. The front desk service was very good, but I really didn't sleep well that night. After all, it was a chain hotel and I was disappointed. The sanitation is quite clean, a bit damp, just turn on the air conditioner!

Overall i will recommend Ji Hotel to everyone (It’s AI controlled for the room) This Hotel located just beside the Metro Station (Lujiabang) its very convenient to go to everywhere included The Bund/Pearl Tower etc. Opposite there is Family Mart, beside the Hotel there is Pizza Hut, Mcdonald and inside is a Mall. Although i did not fully utilized the Breakfast everyday, the choices of the breakfast is average, have some Dim Sum and porridge with bread toast. Finally, i appreciated all the little good services by the employee over there.

We arrived the hotel early in the morning about 8am, very tired from our red eye flight and was allowed to check in immediately. The staff at the lobby and the housekeeper were very kind and generous. I really appreciate their hospitality! We booked a twin room and it was very spacious and very clean. The toilet is top notch because it has one of those fancy bidets haha. The hotel even provide free self service laundry! They provide all the detergent, softener and disinfectant in those little cute bottles. It is located on the 2nd floor and 24hours! Location is also great, just opposite the hotel there is a mall to eat, a convenience store Lawson and a pharmacy. If you take a didi to the bund or to cool areas like xintiandi, it’s only a few dollars and about 10 mins away. Will 100% stay here again! Thank you to all the staff at the lobby once again, they’ve been very kind and helpful whenever I needed assistance. 🫶🏽 the picture attached is a beautiful secret garden we chanced upon which is opposite the hotel too. 🍂🤎🦊

I noticed there is a small red spot stained on e bathroom floor (not sure what is that, it looked likes blood stain to me). However, on e last night, it was quite warm, I think there is no access of airconditioners during winter season. Other than that, room is really huge and with impressive Oriental Pearl Tower Views! The location is perfect with Yuyuan garden & Cheng Huan Temple located behind, food amenities and shopping street. Sightseeing bus also nearby the hotel to bring me around the bund & famous attraction spots. Subway also a short walking distance from the hotel. Family mart just below only! Price worthwhile overall!

Very enjoyable stay! We arrived early in the morning before the scheduled check-in time. Although it was fully booked that day, they have managed to keep the housekeeping process quick to allow us in for a good rest. Before we depart to airport, they even offered us bottle of mineral water to keep us hydrated. Small gestures, but great hospitality. Kudos to the receptionist team. Will definitely be my top pick in next visit.
