Garden Palace Hotel

Other than the nice front service staff and the location. Everything else is a no go. Condition of the hotel is definitely not a 4 star standard. Heck I even stayed in better 2 star hotels and had better standards. Everything in the room is rundown, stains everywhere. I even found some bugs here and there. Even on the highest end room "king suite" I definitely did not feel like a king. Faulty aircon, not even cool its quite hot, notenough to cool the entire room. Fridge had goos n stains inside as the it was faulty already. Lift was kinda faulty on my level as well. Cancelled my 2nd night immediately as I had nowhere else to go on my 1st night (was already close to midnight). Had to endure the 1st night. Pictures dont do any justice to be real honest.. but thats all I can post. SO word of advice. UNLESS there is no other place to go DONT BOOK HERE

the services is really bad. you can tell that this hotel is about to bankrupt. the management of this hotel is bad, there's only one receptionist. the check in was late.

The hotel is just near to few Historic buildings and museum and 3 large Malls in Surabaya. Infact the famous ice-cream is just beside the hotel main entrance

Very good location overall, assessable to many malls and and popular eateries easily and conveniently. Comfortable room quality and services. Love the fully equipped gym.

Poor amenities for 4 stars hotel standard. No toilet paper, no paper tissue, no slipper. Cleanliness needs to improve. The room big but interior was old. There are many holes on sofa cover (cigarettes burned)

very comfy, i booked for deluxe but there were no room available so my room was upgraded, thanks to the staff for being professional and helpful. breakfast was good and quite lots of choices (western and indonesian) from pancakes, indonesian traditional food, and chinese food like fried rice etc. room was clean but can be cleaner (i found few little insects but that was actually fine for me. overall very recommended and the hotel is located in the center of the city so this one is a plus! 🤩

We hesitated at first to stay in this hotel. It's an old hotel (started to be built in 1979) and the building's exterior looks so shabby. The hotel was affected by Covid-19, too, so we know to not set the bar too high for this hotel. Well, when we arrived at the lobby, we could really see the 90's vibes, glamorous hotel at that time. Check in was easy and fast, and surprisingly there were still so many employees working for this hotel. This place was more alive than I thought it would be. The room was good, not exquisite but I can see that it was designed well and was very nice initially. The AC worked well, hot water and water pressure were nice, but the bathroom door was jammed. And the bathtub had black stains (or maybe chipped). The sheets, blanket, and towel all had some stains but I'm sure they were all washed clean. The pillow smelled bad, like musty or damp, but we asked to be replaced and got the fresh ones. Amenities were just okay. No slippers, soap and shampoo were very standard, but they provided a safe deposit box, electric kettle, and coffee/tea. The view outside was amazing, we could see the heart of Surabaya from above, sitting in the japanese-styled chairs. Bed was nice, too. We slept soundly. Breakfast was great, surprisingly! We expected nothing, but turned out there were many varieties of the food, and they were all pretty good. From western to Indonesian, all great. I was happy to see all the employees there, like things are finally getting normal again. The visitors were a lot, too. I'm so relieved that they were doing great ❤️
