I recently stayed at Avilion Cameron Highland and wanted to share my experience with fellow travelers. While there were some positive aspects, there were a few disappointments that affected my overall impression.
Upon entering the room, I couldn't help but notice that it felt a bit dated. Some corners of the room were not as clean as I would have expected, which left a less-than-desirable first impression. It seemed like a thorough cleaning and maintenance check might be overdue.
One aspect that stood out was the check-in process. We arrived at the hotel at 2:40 pm, slightly before the official check-in time of 3 pm. While we were prepared to wait, it was a bit frustrating to find ourselves waiting until 3:15 pm without any communication from the staff. I had to approach the counter myself to inquire about the delay, and only then did they remember to hand over the room key. This lapse in communication was somewhat disappointing.
Moving on to the room itself, it appeared that renovations were long overdue. The bed frame had an unpleasant smell, and the towels were noticeably yellowish, suggesting they might need replacement. These details contributed to a less than satisfactory overall stay.
Considering the mentioned issues, I find it difficult to justify the price paid for the stay. The room's condition and the delay in check-in were significant factors in my assessment. On a positive note, I appreciate the effort put into the aspects that were up to standard.
Furthermore, the breakfast options were limited, which added to the overall underwhelming experience. A wider selection would have enhanced the stay and made it more enjoyable.
In summary, my stay at Avilion Cameron Highland had its ups and downs. The room's condition and the check-in delay were notable downsides, while the limited breakfast options also contributed to a less than stellar experience. I would rate my stay a 2.5 out of 5, reflecting the overall mixed feelings I have about this accommodation.
