Stayed at Sau Bay Resort the end of March as 1 of 2 non-diving guests in a group of Divers. I have never been so warmly welcomed as we were when we arrived on the beach by the amazing staff who remembered our names and whose wonderful hospitalityatb this secluded resort never wavered. The Divers in our group had nothing but praise for the superb Diving crew and the dives sites they were taken to on the Rainbow Reef. As a non-diver after seeing the divers off each morning Siah, Kasia and Lui always made sure that I was comfortable and had all I needed. I took advantage of the Somosomo Spa having several massages and facials by the superb Charlotte and Maria as I listened to the sound of gentle waves on the beach! I made use of the of the kayaks and snorkeling gear as well as the comfortable furniture in the Main building to simply relax, read a book and do jigsaw puzzles on the days we had rain. My bure was well appointed with a very comfortable bed. The gourmet food prepared by Laisa and Maura was delicious with excellent presentation and service. The evening entertainment by Lui and Danny was fun and added to the enjoyment of our stay. I could go on and on about the staff like Riko who climbed a tree to get me a fresh coconut to enjoy, Tony who opened the boutique when we wanted to shop and Abe who greeted me in the early morning with a warm Bula as I sat on my bure’s porch. Suffice it to say my stay was restful, enjoyable and very memorable. Vinaka vaka levu Sau Bay Resort!

Sau bay was more beautiful than I ever could have imagined! The water was warm and clear the dives were epic! Massages are a must so factor that into the budget or you will miss a relaxing ocean view relaxing experience. The white wall and rainbow reef are just a short boat ride and the diving was so amazing! The food was phenomenal and most of it is all grown there at the property! Had a wonderful time and can’t wait to return!

Sau Bay was such an amazing experiment in 2023 that 11 of made a second trip in 2024 for not one, but two consecutive weeks. Fantastic diving, incredible dive masters providing concierge type service on their boats. And fantastic 5 star dining too. The entire staff and crew are welcoming and caring and exhibit excellent service during our stay. This is truly a luxury dive resort and must do destination!

I can not recommend Sau Bay Resort enough! And I hesitate to reveal this little gem. Let me begin with how kind the staff are; Anthony, Louie, Sarah, Dani, Freddy, Lotu, Carl, Mary and (if I Have missed anyone I apologize)! I was a solo female traveler and felt safe- very safe! The Dive team Lotu and Carl ( and Sarahs son) were fantastic and took me to the right areas to see The White wall, cabbage patch, and all over the rainbow reef. I am vegetarian and the food was outstanding. The conversations with the staff over Kava were in-depth and informative. They sing to you coming in and when you leave. They kept the grounds impeccable and were always accommodating, working and preparing for the next event. They treated me like royalty. And I am not blowing smoke- cuz I traveled all over Fiji and this resort has it- They are family and you can feel it! I will return! Make sure to have the Pina Colada with the Pina Colada song......

The resort is beautiful , great meals prepared fresh for every meal, and special requests are fulfilled. The nurses are very comfortable. I could listen to the ocean when falling asleep. Great diving with the experienced dive masters. It’s a great place to relax and rejuvenate.

My husband and I stayed here for 6 days and it was wonderful. The resort is small and intimate. There are just 5 or 6 2-person cabins and one larger yurt, so you get to know everyone. The staff is extremely friendly and everyone knows you by name. This resort is only accessible by boat, so once you are there, you remain on the property with the exception of excursions. There is no place to walk to (other than an hour-long hike on the property). The food here is wonderful, and we are pretty picky, as we live in Portland, OR where the food is fantastic. We chose Sau Bay because we wanted to scuba dive on Rainbow Reef and it did not disappoint. The coral and the amount of sea life on the reef was amazing. The boat rides are under 20 minutes. We also loved the house reef. The bay is protected, so when the conditions aren't great to go out on boat, we could always snorkel off the beach and it was great snorkeling. We did this at least once a day (even on days we went diving). We also did a night dive off the property which was fun. We loved everything about this resort. If I had anything negative to say (which this isn't much of a negative), I would say the cabins are a bit close together. You can hear people talking, etc.! in their cabins. We would definitely return!

I just had the most beautiful, delicious, and relaxing time at Sau Bay Resort - it was the best part of my trip to Fiji. I spent two nights in one of the ocean front bures and enjoyed the island views, birdsong, snorkeling, hiking, and flora. Sau Bay is an intimate and remote resort island getaway - perfect for relaxing and enjoying nature - and it was exactly what I was looking for. My bure was lovely and well stocked with everything I could need including beach towels, a coffee station, a drying line near the outdoor shower, a powerful ceiling fan and mosquito netting. The bed and linens were luxuriously comfortable. And waking to that view felt like I was still dreaming. The communal patio, dining area and bar are comfortable places to enjoy the incredible views and sunsets, to read in the shade and enjoy island sounds. The meals were world class - the waloo streamed in coconut cream with tomato and spices and wrapped in a banana leaf was a delicious highlight, and the freshly baked banana muffins at breakfast were a close second. Each meal was beautifully and creatively presented, fresh and flavorful. I’m not sure if they offer it every night but I was lucky to enjoy live music with each dinner, too! I snorkeled on my own out front of the resort at high tide and also booked two days on the boat snorkeling the Rainbow Reef which were exceptional. If you snorkel or dive the Cabbage Patch, Purple Wall, Nuku, and over the White Wall are not to be missed. Hard and soft corals, hundreds of varieties of fish, reef sharks, and dolphins were all seen here and looking vibrant and healthy. I recommend booking a massage with Charlotte, too! She has beautiful energy and my massage with her was restorative and perfect. The massage room is open to the ocean breeze and it was so relaxing to be serenaded by ocean waves during the session. Lastly, like anywhere in Fiji, bring some mosquito repellant. I hope to return some day and cannot recommend it enough. Siah, Kasa, Charlotte, Sera, Laisa, Danny and Carl are exceptional hosts!

Yes, Sau Bay Resort is both! When we arrived, the staff were under the magnificent and ancient raintree (mimosa) on the shore in front of the man building, singing, and with freshly cut coconuts prepared for us. It was completely peaceful, safe, and quiet at night, and the only access is by boat, so is a great getaway from the noise and traffic of cities and suburbs. The massage room is a great example of civilization and remoteness. We enjoyed the types of massages and body scrubs available in civilized areas, but Sau Bay is so remote that the massage building is open to the ocean on one side, we enjoyed the pleasant sounds of the surf, rather than canned music. The guest quarters are nice separate buildings with wood floors, a coffee & tea bar with a sink, and a ceramic tile bathroom with two sinks, plenty of counter space, a separate toilet room, and an outdoor shower. Just ask, and the staff will send someone up a coconut tree to give you a fresh drink. The staff are excellent, both friendly and efficient. The wifi works great. We were amazed at the first-rate quality of the food, and there is a happy hour every evening. We do not know how to dive, but snorkeling was nice, and other guests told us that the diving was outstanding. The property is 100 acres (40.5 hectares), and we hiked to the top, finding lemon trees growing wild. One other guest went fishing every day, but we forgot to bring fishing equipment, so next time.
