Crown Sea Hostel

Somewhere between disastrous and outright fraudulent. My wife still has PTSD from this monstrosity of a business. First off, EVERYTHING THEY SAY IS A LIE. At ********** they said that they have a 24 hour check-in, they dont. We found it the hard way, by arriving at 1am only to find that no one is there and the phone number provided rings the phone in the empty office... no mobile... at 1am in a foreign country in the middle of the street I had to find another hotel in July... with a pregnant wife... Even small things are a lie; they say they have hairdryer, asked for 3 days and still never saw it... The payment process is fraudulent, the guy TAKES PHOTOS OF YOUR CREDIT CARD, front and back... no pin nothing. Room cleaning... don't think it exists. The filthiest room ive been to in 5+ years. They haven't ever cleaned the dust, our room even had used bottles and razors in the shower that no one bothered to throw away. Avoid like the plague

Will post a fuller review in due course. Suffice to say it is a real dump. Owner promised a full refund which we have not received as yet. Holiday refund promised to us on 18th JULY 2022. We have emails to prove he promised a refund. A lawyer has written to him twice and no response as yet. Lawyer has now advised us to contact the Police. We will do so shortly.

I made a last-minute booking at Crown Sea Hostel while on a bus en-route to Tel Aviv. I booked a lovely room at Crown Sea Hostel, and noted that I would arrive after 1:00AM. I received emailed confirmation of my reservation, and mistakenly assumed that everything would be OK. It wasn't. When I arrived at the hotel, there was NOBODY to let me in. I called the phone number on the outside of the building and sent an email to the address on the website. I got NO RESPONSE. I waited at the entrance of the hotel until I thought I might fall asleep. After that, I walked the streets of Tel Aviv until I was finally able to find a room at another hostel. That was at 3:30AM. In the morning, I called the booking service (Agoda) to tell them what had happened. The customer service rep reached out to the hotel manager, who, in turn, told her that he never had a room to rent in the first place! To his credit, the manager did agree to issue a refund. Agoda tells me I should see it within 30 days. Also, to his credit, the manager did try to text me through Whatsapp to notify me of the mixup. The only thing is... I didn't use Whatsapp to make the reservation, and only check it sporadically, so didn't think to check it for a sign that something had gone wrong with my booking. Why not call or email me? I gave them my phone number and email address. In the end of the day (or rather in the middle of the night) all of that is just splitting hairs. Crown Sea Hostel should never have taken a reservation for a room that doesn't exist. The best I can say about Crown Sea is that it might be a decent hostel. I just can't tell you what it's like to stay there. I will never know.

Lovely hotel!! High standard rooms, spacious, very clean, with everything we needed! Perfect location, close to the beach and walking distance from everything! Personal and warm treatment from the owner of the place! Highly recommended!
