Amazing restaurant in Telluride! Don’t miss out. The food was delicious. We had filets, French onion soup, cornbread and mashed potatoes. Our server Ian was very attentive and kind. We visit Telluride each winter but this was our first visit to Chop. We will definitely be back!

Our second time here and was even better than the first! Hotel is so pretty and so cozy and in an awesome location! It is right in the middle of downtown and walking distance to great restaurants and shops and a 3-5 minute walk to the gondola. Their restaurant, The Chop House is one of the best in Telluride and the bar is a great spot for a drink or brunch/dinner. Staff is really amazing here. Sarah at reception goes above and beyond and is a great asset to the hotel! Big shout out to Randall and Aaron at the bar who are awesome! Will be coming back again for sure and cannot wait!

My husband and I had an absolutely delightful stay at the gorgeous New Sheridan Hotel. From the moment we arrived, we were warmly welcomed and treated as though we were treasured guests. The magic of the mountains is already sublime, add to that the comfort and elegant appointment of the guest room, bars, common spaces and restaurant and this is one of the best experiences we have had in 26 years of anniversary trips. We loved our street-facing room and enjoyed gazing out of the grand windows. It was fun to see all of the folks who were stopping and looking up at the New Sheridan with awe and envy—she is a beauty! Thank you, to all of you good people who make the New Sheridan so special. Ray is an affable, outstanding GM, Sarah at the desk was so nice and helpful, Randall at the bar is one of a kind—funny, friendly and makes a great drink. Steve in the Chop House bar started our anniversary evening perfectly with champagne and well wishes, and Marissa was a lovely, attentive server of the delicious meal we enjoyed at the perfect table for two. Thank you to all whose names I did not catch, we had wonderful service at the incredible rooftop bar by all there as well, and outstanding housekeeping. Thanks to Beau for chatting with me so kindly as I reflected back on the stay. We cannot wait to return! Cheers, Tricia and Matt Buck

It's an expensive hotel in an expensive town. We booked the "cozy-sized" room for our fall visit to Telluride and didn't really know what we were getting into. The point of this review is to explain what you get when you book cozy. First of all, the hotel is terrific. It's in a perfect location on Main Street, in the middle of everything Telluride - just blocks from the gondola, for example. It has an interesting history, but has been carefully and thoughtfully remodeled (sound-proofing was a priority, apparently. Kudos to the designer for that). My only complaint is not the hotel's fault: there's no on-site parking and there is never going to be on-site parking, given the fact that the hotel was built before people had cars. Parking is still free, however, but you have to go hunting for just right "kind" of spot, and for us that was a couple of blocks away (and very uphill) behind the hotel. It was very annoying to have to trudge back to the car to retrieve our jackets, or whatever else we'd left in there, especially since we'd just flew in from our sea-level home, and that hill felt like a mountain. (For edification, they'll tell you to find parking indicated with a green "G" on it. The green G is very small, beneath much more commanding lettering saying the area was for 2-hour parking, or something else. We drove around for a while. trying to find green G parking, when we'd actually just hadn't seen it on the signs the first time around.) So -- the cozy room isn't all that small! I once stayed in a hotel in NYC where I had to stand ON the bed to change my clothes. This room not only had a king-sized bed and two night stands, but a loveseat and coffee table. There was a regular-sized closet, built-in drawers, thoughtful shelving, and a generously sized bathroom. You will not feel cramped. My only real objection to the cozy room was the fact that it faced into an air shaft. That meant the room was very dark, both night and day. It was a little warm in the room in September and there is no air conditioning - just be forewarned if you're perpetually hot, like us (I think there was a swamp cooler in the closet, but it was the middle of the night and I didn't feel like trying to figure out how to use it). Also, you can ask for a dorm-sized fridge to be brought up, which we appreciated.

Wonderful breakfast in an elegant and historic setting. Beautiful period decor in dining room with a table overlooking scenic Telluride. Service was excellent and gladly accepted our personal requests.

We absolutely loved this hotel! Amazing location right in downtown Telluride. It is a few minute walk to the gondola and many restaurants and shops. The Chop House is a wonderful steak restaurant located off the lobby which we ate at twice during our 6 night stay. The bar in the lobby is great too for brunch and drinks and can order off the Chop House menu as well. Also, the historic bar connected next door is fun and lively with great drinks, pool tables and great music! Our room was really nice and comfortable for my husband and I and our 16 year old with a roll away bed. The staff here is absolutely great! Sarah at reception is a huge asset to this hotel! She was just fabulous from the time of booking a year go to when we checked out! She gives great recommendations for restaurants and things to do as well as recommending our ski instructor Iggy who was awesome and also is a great server at the Chop House! We already booked out next stay here and cannot wait!

A delightful dining experience. Menu items are not over-complex, ingredients are fresh and well-prepared, they have a good wine cellar, atmosphere is friendly and relaxing, service is excellent. Even by the windows it's cozy, there are no drafts and it's not noisy. We were even greeted by one of the owners, who seemed genuinely interested in how we enjoyed our meal. What's not to like? Nothing!

Rating the dining & bar experience, it was superb, perhaps the best service and total experience I have had in my many years of dining out. General Manager Ray Farnsworth was the perfect host, his staff exceeded my expectations at every step of service. Superb!
