It was a drive from Chobe, through Immigration/Customs at the border and to the gates of the National Park. Once our credentials were ‘approved’ we proceeded to the ‘Reception’ area of the Lodge. What we didn’t expect was that that we would change to a pontoon boat for a wonderful trip along the Zambezi River to the Lodge!! What a way to arrive 😉😉. The general open area is wonderful with a large dining area, general lounge area, reception and a small shop. Our accommodation was fabulous with the usual huge tented bed, very comfortable lounge area, ‘kitchen/bar’ area, dressing table and, in our case, a lot of hanging/space with a possible three/four-bed room leading to another toilet and shower. The main bathroom had a huge shower/bath area with two sinks, another toilet, and outdoor shower. A wonderful touch was a chalk board with a Welcome Message from our housekeeper, Judith. Outside was a lovely deck with sun loungers, table, chairs and a plunge pool overlooking the River. The food was excellent as were the wine choices served in the dining room overlooking the Zambezi River. We went out on one safari trip, and two sunset boat cruises with Chips; all of which were wonderful and so great to see the elephants swimming. Then the highlight of our stay … an early morning trip to see Victoria Falls; what an AMAZING experience and, thanks to the team at the Lodge, it was sooo worth it to leave at 6am for fabulous views, amazing rainbows and before other tourists began to arrive. We had excellent massages with Sthr and Gugu and many thanks to Roxanne and her great team for a wonderful stay.
