Grand Mercure Xian Renmin Square

Zhonggulou Square (Downtown)
The hotel definitely has a 1950s luxury vibe, it's a part of a large Renmin Square hotel complex that share some facilities (notably a great swimming pool in the next building). The location is great, walking distance to the city centre and like 7 min from metro. The hotel made a mistake in my booking and upgraded me to a suite as a result (which was nice but that room was not ready so I had to wait). The suite was nice, with a comfortable bed and pretty much twice everything I needed. Also two wifis - only the Renmin one worked, the hotel one recommended by reception did not work at all. The room had like 20 switches next to the bed, I picked the 'Night' one - bad surprise, it also switches off the bedside socket so I woke up to a discharged phone.

Hongmiaopo/Daxing New District
Spacious, new-style decoration, high-quality, good service, and there are also robots for food delivery 1. The 45-square-meter room is very spacious and bright. The distance between floors is very high. Tall people who don’t like depression will like it very much. Please refer to my pictures. 2. New hotel, newly renovated, the decoration is very stylish, smart sensors, the furniture is of good quality, and there is also a bathtub. I think the boss has a far-sighted vision 3. The service is good. Xiaotian Xinxin’s customer service at the front desk is very professional and has a sense of professionalism. There is a robot to deliver goods. I took some additional pictures of small details for reference.

Overall very satisfied with this hotel. The location is fantastic, in the center, super close to the Bell Tower but not near the busy and noisy street. Every staff was so kind and helpful and you feel welcomed! (but you need to use a Chinese translator app for better communication) The room condition was good too but sometimes the noise from the ceiling was a little bothering at night. Luckily I didn’t feel too bad though. The free afternoon is in the lobby for everyone. I expected something nicer but it turned out some cut fruits and snacks with paper up tea. It was still a nice treat! Also I loved their gym. It was small and didn’t have equipments except a set of dumbbells and two treadmills. However they prepared free water, towels, and the super clean space to comfortably work out.

High-tech Development Zone
Environment: After all, it is a state guesthouse, the environment is awesome, very quiet, and the room is large; Hygienic: The cleaning is still very clean, but the fabric cushions, curtains, carpets, and sofas should not be washed for a long time; Service: The lobby service is warm, the cleaning staff is polite, the law is satisfactory, there is no mistake and no surprise; Facilities: Good hardware, not good software. There is no network in the set-top box, Wi-Fi has no password and is extremely unstable and basically unusable. Overall, the price is good, it is a pity that it is old.

Lovely location overlooking the river. The entrance road is pretty, about 1km drive. Room was clean, nice layout, with a fantastic view of the river. Breakfast was standard. Used the sauna, steam room, both clean and comfortable environment. The pool was a little small but not a major issue. Staff were friendly and most spoke some level of English.

We had to cut short our stay because I fell and fractured my wrist which required immediate attention at a museum. Front desk staff Shun Lu was super helpful, when we returned to the hotel. He accompanied us to the nearby hospital, facilitating a smooth access to the medical facilities, especially in communicating with hospital staff. He stayed with us during the different stations we had to go for diagnosis, xray, ct scan, treatment and getting the medications from the pharmacy. Without him we would been lost and confused going through the hospital. Then when we returned to the hotel, he assisted us in managing our change of booking to a shorter one. We believe he is and will be an invaluable member of the team at the hotel with the kind hospitality he showed us. were There was not much for us to say about the other facilities at the hotel because we had no time to use them. The free afternoon tea and snacks were a pleasant surprise, and our simple dinner for that one night was delightful. My wife and I would like to return there when I have recovered and continue to experience the rest of Xian that ended abruptly.
