Royal Zanzibar Beach Resort

It was my first time staying at an all inclusive hotel and i loved it. The hotel is huge and there is a lot to do in the hotel. I stayed at the beachfront room so I had the best views and the best room in the hotel. The staff was amazing and the food was even better.

Hotel: Beautiful views and nice arquitecture. On our last day they let us do a free late check out and have dinner and stay at the hotel till 11pm which really shows that the hotel care about their guests. Food: The food is good. The cliff restaurant is very nice and with good dishes. Buffet is quite diverse and you have the BBQ night which is awesome. Something to improve: desserts. Service: All the staff is very nice and friendly. Pools: You have 3/4 different pools with 2 bars which is great to order some drinks. Room: big rooms and very spacious. Bed sheets, towels and matress are quite old. They need to be changed. Gym: Needs an improvement. To close it and are some fan/air conditioner. They should add some running and bike equipment. Beach: Beautiful beach with super crystal water. Something bad is the local people that wants to sell everything at all time. But I guess that is something normal in all Zanzibar. Score: 8,5/10

The hotel was absolutely stunning with excellent service. I would definitely come back again.

As the title suggests, this is your sign to book this resort! I seriously was heartbroken when it was time to check out. The employees are so friendly, funny and helpful. Biggest shout outs to every employee we encountered. I unfortunately don’t remember everyone’s names. I’ll do my best to describe their location The ladies who greet you for breakfast everyday made our morning. By the second day our waitress already knew what drinks we wanted and when we saw her at the cliff she was sooo happy to see us. It was necessary to give her the biggest hug before leaving. My girrrrl! The Swahili teacher was top notch. Super enjoyed also playing volleyball with him! Ana, oh her beautiful soul. Funny as hell and was a great host for entertainment! I wish I remember this guys name because he was also a favorite of ours. Loves to sing and dance worked the pool counter. Friends with Ana and also a great funny entertainment host. I want to say his name starts with a T. 12/10 employee. The locals on the beach. At first interaction it was a little overwhelming howeverrrrr this guys ended up making our trip so much more memorable. From booking sunset cruises, jet skis, dolphin tours etc we got a ton of personal made gifts for ourselves, personalized gifts for friends/family. By day 2 we were fist bumping all of them and can say I’d trust them with my life. I encourage you to interact with the locals and check out the market. Huge shout outs to coke a cola and the chief. I wish we knew how close we were to locals. I would have bought school supplies/ any supplies for the locals. Truly enjoyed watching the sunset with the locals playing soccer on the beach. So amazing to see the community take care of each other. There’s nothing but love. Food was typical resort food. Nothing to complain about and nothing to rave about. However the station cooks had us both laughing and smiling every time we went in. We encounter some slight stomach issues, but nothing that stopped us from enjoying every second of this trip. Room was always clean. Gardeners were always working, employees always cleaning something. If I had to stretch for a recommendation it would be to include some basic medication in the resort store. We had brought a ton of medications as a precaution but couldn’t find our heartburn medication (it was found scrambled in our suitcase) so we went to the store and we didn’t see any type of medication. I was happy to see they had feminine products though! I recommend bringing your own precaution medication and bug spray. Off bug spray worked perfect for us as it’s a little buggy at night. We did see pest control going around though! I will say I was upset at how I saw some of the guest treating my friends. I saw a lady literally scream and bang on the table demanding wine before even being seated. It took everything in me to not flip out on her. These employees are on point and know one talks to my friends like that. Luckily I didn’t see h

The hotel is really lovely and we had a nice and relaxing time with my 8yo son. We stayed in April so wether was so so but still managed to experience the beautiful sunset in the infinity pool and at the beach. Staff in the main restaurant and the bar and all housekeeping are definitely an asset for the hotel. They go above and beyond with their kindness and service to make your holiday special. Food in the restaurant is good which is important because the hotel has only one restaurant. The a la carte by the beach has beautiful view and is nice for lunch to enjoy the view. Not sure about capacity in full season, it might be a struggle to get in. I was definitely missing some snacks and small bites to offer to kids just by the beach without packing up and making all the way to main building for lunch. Hotel itself feels a bit dated and rooms need maintenance. They are spacious and comfortable but have maintenance issues and I don’t think anyone checks the arrival rooms for that reason. They have seen better days… It is fine and doesn’t matter in a way but definitely does not go in pair with 5 star rating and the price advertised on their website. It is just not the standard. Few things that Minibar fridge was empty in the room and I was told I can bring whatever I like from the bar in the evening. Just don’t see myself doing it.. Cliff restaurant at the beach didn’t have any red or rose wine for three days in a row at the end of our holidays and no one bothered to replenish it for the service. It was available in the main restaurant so not sure why it didn’t make the way to the other outlet. I have asked for coconuts for my son at the beach bar as obviously lots hanging around on the palm trees and they appeared next day on the menu for $3. Day after they were on display for $6 each! Not sure why if can be purchased on the street for pennies. Not really an imported expensive product 😂 For a week of holiday I would need to pay for a coconut meal plan on top of my all inclusive 😌 There is no lost and found procedure in place at the hotel at all, they have several places where things might end up and I have been sent around the hotel to ask in few places for something that I left behind at the pool. I did get it back eventually but it was really stressful to be sent from one desk to another and ask different staff members about the same thing.
