I can safely say Intercontinental is one of the best hotels in Dalian after having stayed in many Dalian hotels. For starters we got a room upgrade and early check in and late check out. The hotel also gave us complimentary coffee and fruit soon after checking in. The room was clean, comfortable, modern and had a gorgeous city view. The amenities were satisfactory and their Breakfast buffet had a wide range of Western and Chinese cuisine to choose from. Special thanks to Jason from the fitness centre and Winnie and Kevin from the front desk for their excellent service they especially made sure our stay was enjoyable. The only downside is that I think the Chinese restaurant staff could use some training the service there was the least professional but in my opinion it didn't takeaway from the overall experience.

The staff at the front desk were really kind and English was also comfortable. The room was spacious enough and comfortable, especially with a bidet in the bathroom. However, I stayed on the 10th floor, but it was a little disappointing that the room with a bad view of the building in front was blocked, and I turned on the heating, but the cold wind kept coming out, so I asked for a separate heater, so it was less cold. Hotel facilities such as saunas and restaurants in the hotel have great convenience like a global brand five-star hotel, especially because it is located in the center of the city, so it was very convenient wherever you went. The hotel was famous, so the taxi drivers quickly found the location and arrived quickly. I am thinking of using it again when I come to Dalian next time. Thank you for your warm hospitality.

This is an honest review that is not meant to dissuade anyone but to offer a thorough unbiased review. My opinion of New World before my stay was that it was a 5 star hotel, it certainly wasn't horrible, but after my stay and comparing to other Dalian hotels in its league that I've stayed in, think it doesn't fit the bill for a 5 star hotel. I can't complain about the service, Check in was swift and we got a free room upgrade and spa coupons, but the hotel room carpet was stained, there was dust in some places and the furniture and room amenities are aging, slightly dated and need to be improved (I didn't feel the need to zoom in on those issues so the pictures wont reflect this) . I loved that there were lovely art pieces throughtout the hotel and the fitness centre was top notch especially the heated pool. The breakfast buffet had fewer options than expected for a hotel of that standard but it was honestly delicious and satisfactory, they had both Chinese and Western dishes, fruit and cereal. The waitresses from Guo restaurant had the best service they went out of their way to make our dinner pleasant. The most disconcerting issue I had with New World was that the room deposit refund took longer than I've ever experienced, I found it highly unusual and somewhat disappointing because I've stayed in a lot of 5 star hotels and usually the refund is instant but they told us it would take up to 3 days. Maybe this is standard practice for them but it made no sense to me and I've never had to wait that long. In any case surely it doesn't take 3 days to check a room!

I've stayed at this location multiple times. It is a good location and I enjoy the house band in the pub (located in the basement). The Kempeski is definitely showing its ago, however. The marblework in the bathroom is cracked and some of the flooring is stained. The public bathroom (to the right of the lobby) is in desperate need of a makeover, i.e. recaulk the edges of the lavatory and do a deep steam cleaning of all tile. Breakfast was superb and the wait staff was doing a great job turning tables around for the next customers. I would probably stay again, but only if the prices are reduced.

This was my 2nd time staying in this hotel and very satisfied again ! When i arrived at the hotel in the night time, although there were a lot of tour group people waiting for the check-in or something, one front-desk staff noticed me and offered her help to do my check-in, because she knew it will take time to process the others. The breakfast was good, but the 2 coffee machines are not working so well, so please see if you can do anything ! Also, you need to replenish the fruits when became empty ! Location is very convenient. Just take Line 2 Subway from Airport to ZhongShan Square, get out from Exit D1 and walk about 5 minutes. I will use this hotel again in all my future trips to Dalian !

This hotel is very good. It is the most ideal hotel among the several hotels I have stayed in Dalian. The handsome guys and beautiful women at the front desk received very warm reception. I think it is a very cost-effective hotel. The breakfast is KFC's breakfast, which is very good. The transportation is also very convenient, very close to the subway entrance and there are several bus stops in front of the hotel. There is a parking lot at the door, free of charge. There are some small flaws, but fortunately, it meets my first request - quietness, which is satisfactory. On the evening of the 31st, I went to the front desk to check in as scheduled. I was told that the water pipes were being repaired and there was no hot water available. In the peak season, what can I do if I don’t stay, I negotiated with the hotel and agreed to give two days of breakfast. 8.3 After checking out and returning home, I suddenly remembered that when Ctrip booked a room, it said that there was a gift for the stay, including hand cream + map book + mask. I didn’t give it to me. It’s not a big deal at all. Maybe the hotel ignored it. The online customer service mentioned it, and the hotel replied that they gave us breakfast. It’s two different things. The hotel said that they will give you a double gift when you stay next time. Please, it’s unlikely that you will go to Dalian again and stay in the same hotel. . Later, Ctrip said to give me some coupons to use next time, but these were of no use to me. So be it, it wasn't a big deal at first, and I didn't plan to do anything, it's just that the rhetoric made people feel a little uncomfortable.

What a wonderful place. Check-in and check-out was a breeze. The pool was a nice size (my kids love swimming) and the gym wasn't too badly equipped. The family room was awesome. The kids beds where a little bit hard but not the worst. There is a McDonald's and Burger King close by and you are not too far from Russian Street. The only thing they don't have is free parking. All and all very satisfied. We will definitely use them in the future.
