Sigma Inn & Suites Hudson's Hope

I traveled to BC at the last minute, right before Christmas, because of an unexpected death. My husband booked the hotel, flight and rental car for me. While I was on route to the destination, the hotel called and left me a message to let me know that they had cancelled my reservation. I was horrified! Now, in a strange province, to attend to the deceased's affairs, I was suddenly - a week before Christmas - left with no place to stay when I arrived! PANIC! Eventually I received another call, and later credit for my pre-paid purchase and a verbal apology for the cancelled reservation, so they could close the Inn for the Christmas holidays. This was NOT an added stress that I needed.

We arrived late after 18 hours on the road but there was no check in available. So glad they did not accept payment through *******. We had to drive all the way to Grande Prairie AB to get a room. I realize you left a message but travelling through the mountains means no service. Our drive was a total of 24 hours due to your lack of counter service.

The hotel was clean and the staff was friendly. Overall I only had one minor complaint that is likely insignificant for most visitors: The wifi network does not allow VPN traffic so if you are here for work and need to sign into your corporate network, you might be out of luck. If you are staying in a kitchen/kitchenette suit with the intention of cooking for yourself, I suggest bringing a good knife and one frypan. The supplied kitchenware is not great and the restaurants in the area are all closed so options are limited.

Hot tub was not working as shown. Didn’t reduce rate. Expensive for what you’re getting. Stay somewhere else for half the cost.

Nice and quiet staff was respectful

Staff were very helpful and courteous.

Check in was smooth and quick. The room was clean.

Continental breakfast was terrible.

Staff were cheerful, available and helpful. Place was clean except for black marks on the towels. Bed was sagging in the middle and breakfast was terrible, cold egg on a bun, coffee and a apple. Place would be great with new bed, towels and either give a good breakfast or none at all.
