Dishonest and Poor Communication We were looking forward to our stay but poor and dishonest communication and service unfortunately ruined it. It started at arrival, where they had told us there would be someone to help us carry our bags up the 10-minute long steep incline to the accommodation, but there was nobody. The manager, who met us to guide us, did not help us herself until we literally had to stop from exhaustion. Most importantly, when we arrived we were taken to a different room than we had originally booked. The hotel manager kept insisting this was an upgrade, but the room did not have most of the amenities we paid for. It also had a foul odor. When we checked the price of the room she was trying to give us as an “upgrade”, it was 500 RMB/night less than our original room. They had offered us no money off at all. When we showed the manager this, she made excuses, saying the price depends on the “family” and is automatically “adjusted” which is was obviously a lie. Finally, after much arguing, we were moved into our original room. We requested an extra pillow and a blanket multiple times. She only gave us a flat sheet, saying we could use the pillow and blanket from the bed. On our second night, we confirmed in advance that we wanted non-spicy to low spicy food. It came extemely spicy, covered in chillies and chilli oil. The manager blamed the ayi. The food was delicious but unfortunately I could barely eat it because it was just too spicy. When leaving, the manager was trying to rush us out because the taxi we had requested came early. She said no goodbye to us, told us to hurry and “go, go, go”. Later she sent us a goodbye message on wechat. The location and the infrastructure of the hotel are beautiful. It is a great place to relax and reflect. The old ladies working there were friendly and lovely. However, the manager was patently trying to take advantage of us, and not listening to us or communicating honestly or clearly. We wanted to come back to this hotel with our friends, but we will look for another hotel in Qiandao that will not try to take advantage of us.

Very nice clean bedroom however the bathroom was quite dirty and had a leaking shower so the floor was constantly just a puddle. On top of this there was only one bathroom in the whole place. That's one bathroom between more than 10 people which is ridiculous. I had to wait for the bathroom almost every time. Despite this the beds were really nice. Good cube beds with curtains and a comfy mattress. Overall a good hostel as long as you don't mind sharing one bathroom with so many people.

The first time I came to Yuzhu, I drove there by myself. After booking, the housekeeper contacted us in time. We booked 2 nights at this lovely homestay (2 adults, 1 child and 1 infant). The hotel was a 45 minute taxi ride from the nearest train station but it was a nice drive through some really beautiful scenery. When we arrived, the staff were very helpful and friendly – meeting the taxi and taking our bags up. The check-in was very smooth and easy. The hotel is right on the lake and the scenery was lush, quiet and picturesque – make sure to bring your camera! The staff are also very willing to take pictures for you. The environment felt very safe and we were able to relax even with young children. We cannot praise the staff enough – they were extremely accommodating and made us feel like family. Even though they did not speak English, they added us on WeChat and we communicated well. They. There a small infinity pool to swim in, a motorboat and kayaks which were free to use and an indoor ball pit / play area for the kids. Our children loved the water! There were also some nice scenic walks a short taxi ride away. The food served for meals was fresh and delicious – we highly recommend the cauliflower dish and the Braised Fish Head. The fish come from the lake itself and they catch and cook them to order. The bar makes great coffee and popcorn chicken for snacks. The room was very clean and spacious with great products. The only item missing was a mini refrigerator to keep milk for the baby. However, the staff kept us supplied with ice to compensate for this and we managed well. Thank you for making our stay so special and memorable! We can’t wait to visit again!

This is a very cozy hotel. Everything seems new and clean, and the check in is smooth. The people running the place are all friendly, not pushy. It’s a nice place to stay. They have a small pool, clean water. Breakfast has two options- Chinese noodles with dumplings, not the instant type but the real cooked. And the Western option is egg toast with salad. They are dog friendly , and they also have a lovely dog. All in all- I would warmly recommend this cute place.
